Historia
Laurel Lockwood lost her son once through neglect. She's spent the rest of her life determined to make up for her mistakes, and she has succeeded in becoming a committed, protective parent-maybe even overprotective. Still, she loosens her grip just enough to let Andy attend a local church social-a decision that terrifies her when the church is consumed by fire. But Andy survives...and remarkably, saves other children from the flames.

New year gift!
Revisado: 01-13-25
This was the best thing of this year so far. Will definitely pick up more from this author. This was a feel good story. There was knowledge and solid follow through in the story telling from start to finish. The author weaves the characters in such a way it appears as though we are walking along side them in NC, and in their life. Loved this!

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Slow start.
Revisado: 11-02-24
Back and forth dialogue. Slow start, actually it was all building and beginning- then it ended. Good character development. Plot building until end, then stopped, little drama. Good story, anti climatic.

Historia
Born to a prominent Chicago judge and his stifled socialite wife, Mia Dennett moves against the grain as a young inner-city art teacher. One night, Mia enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn't show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. With his smooth moves and modest wit, Colin Thatcher seems at first like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia's life.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Good, riding on Mr.Mercedes
Revisado: 10-01-23
Wished the Covid theme was left out. Reads like a Covid heavy novel, thought we had moved past that. Feels like he was trying to push one more out and it just couldn’t didn’t get done in time. Such a good series, strong ideas, preaching a topic takes away. Dislike when authors bring a soap box. He’s stronger than this- leave preaching on Twitter verse and books for us to read, please.

A bit draggy on the girl/ Daisy, in the house with MIL/ Annie at times. Overall, the story was good and really worth the read. Loved the ending and turn of events. This was unexpected in many ways. Well done! Worth your time- don’t skip this one! Reader was really good too.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

leave politics out of it
Revisado: 10-04-21
By the time you are done with this one there will be no doubt when the author stands on her views with Covid-19 or politics. This is a long 16 hour ramble about Covid and mask wearing with jabs (no pun intended) at the anti-vaxers, with 2 hours of real story. It would have been nice to set aside the politics and opinions and just tell a story. Slaughter is a good write, I hope she finds she way out of this mess.Skip this one.

Historia
“This is a story about an idea that I have,” Americana legend and self-proclaimed “recovering folk singer” Steve Earle states early in his enthralling Words + Music performance. “This job of mine becomes an artform spontaneously in 1965 - when Bob Dylan wants to be John Lennon, and John Lennon wants to be Bob Dylan, whether either one of them would admit it or not - and in that moment, rock and roll becomes art."
