Strong start but…
Revisado: 10-19-23
For me, this book is great because it help me identify the core issue I have, because I understood the correlating symptoms. In my opinion, obsessive, anxious over thinkers are generally very self aware. As I listen to the earlier chapters of this book, going through symptom after symptom and scenario after scenario, I had a very huge aha moment as the explanations hit the nail on the head.
In the early chapters of the book, not only does the author go through cause and effect with examples but also they go through examples of how to cope or deal with such a condition. That being said, the latter chapters of the book seemed a bit repetitive, circling around to reiterate what had already been said. Strong start but a very slow finish.
I believe for someone whom is a novice to their symptoms, or person, potentially seeking ways to help a friend or family member by understanding their condition or situation, this book can be a very useful tool in identifying the problem, and suggesting ways to overcome. The good definitely outweighs the less than good. I hope this helps.

Historia
David Ireland, pastor of a multiracial megachurch in New Jersey and diversity consultant to the NBA, equips Christians to usher in a new era of racial reconciliation in One in Christ. Racial disharmony is tearing communities apart, both inside and outside the church. But Jesus Christ is, and was, a great reconciler. Warmth, regard, and respect emanated from His person toward others - all others. Part of this allure was the fact Jesus was comfortable in His skin. This made others who approached Him comfortable in their skin.

Compassion and Conviction
Revisado: 10-22-19
This book has so many progressive qualities. Some of its chapters I listened to over and over again, and I intend to listen again. This book challenges you to look deep within yourself, and challenges you to come face-to-face with the reality of your thinking. At one point reduced me to choking back tears. It is wonderfully illustrated and definitive in the authors thinking. This book provides very practical measures of resolution to a very wide arena of topics and issues. I give this book my highest recommendation. In a nutshell, I absolutely love it.
