Of course it borders on unbelievable, but it’s so entertaining, idealistic and genuine that the reader hardly notices that the everyday of this excellent story is the impossible of life as we know it. Very well done!

This is a book that leaves you sad at the end when it’s over just because it’s so well done.

This detail-rich description of how a Third World War might begin, be fought and evolve is one of the best suspense novels I have ever read. Rich in explanations, verisimilitude and the military arts, it just simply rings true and was a joy to read, even down to the granular and authentic character sketches of the various nationalities and their motivations for taking specific actions. Well researched, Bravo!

This is a persuasive description of how the Republic developed two irreconcilably different sets of legal, political, social and even communitarian traditions. Like ‘Worse Than Slavery’ and ‘Slavery By Another Name,’ it illuminates those histories that leave one wondering about the roots of such practices as mass incarceration, indiscriminate policing, and the persistence of unequal education, housing and employment...The proof of the quality of this work is reinforced by the realities of today’s America.

Burns successfully conveys the details that made competing options so difficult to choose among. Bravo!
