Good Listen with Enough Story to Enjoy
Revisado: 02-09-25
I liked the various character voices, storyline, twists and how the story flowed. Not too much fluff distracting from the plot.

Riker Is The Man
Revisado: 12-31-23
This story covers a lot territory and was fun to follow around. The senator’s son’s naïveté was frustrating, but the author put him the school of hard knocks and he can make a real contribution in future novels. I hope Riker and Jessica connect again too. If you’re a Jack Reacher fan, you will love meeting Riker.

Historia
Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

Great story telling where you will never guess the outcome. It all comes together though. I listened to the second book before this one. I did like it a little better.

Great Story Telling
Revisado: 04-17-23
You’ll know who did it from the start, but the interactions between the characters are realistically told. I really enjoyed the story and how it wrapped up. It would be a pleasure to read how the case will eventually close out.

Definitely a difference approach
Revisado: 03-29-23
I’ve listened to most novels by Mr. Coben. Most are written so the story unfolds over time until a brilliant wrap up at the end. This story reveals a lot upfront and the four “W’s” are revealed thereafter - so you know how it will end; just not the details. Nothing wrong with the approach- just different than most novels. I loved that Hester was in this story and the the reader used her same voice. What an awesome narrator. I will listen to any book he reads. I look forward to the next Coben novel!

Historia
Defense lawyer Andy Carpenter usually tries to avoid taking on new cases at all costs. But this time, he's happy - eager, even - to take the case that's just come his way. Andy's long-time friend Martha "Pups" Boyer takes in stray puppies that the local dog rescue center can't handle, raises them until they're old enough to adopt, and then finds good homes for them. Not everyone admires the work Pups does as much as Andy does, however.

Nice Who Did It Story

Enjoyed the humor. The story seemed to end abruptly with all the loose ends coming together by an unexpected someone introduced into the story at the end.

A love and redemption story at Christmastime
Revisado: 01-03-23
Reminds me just how awful men and women communicate -until the time is exactly right to say what needs to be said. This is a nice story with lots of humor throughout. A doctor being bitten by a reindeer in the bum is timely comedy that weaves in and out of the story perfectly.

Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

Great period story
Revisado: 04-22-22
Really enjoyed the dialog between all the characters. Sure, there is a ton of mystery and thrilling story telling, but it was a simpler time and spoken word, true or untrue, meant more than it does today. Loved the ending.

I think the narrator matters and Rory did an awesome job telling this one. I enjoyed the dialect, voice inflection and tone performed when Hawthorne was involved; like two people narrated the book. Terrifying and unpredictable ending.

Good blend of new and old crime fighting
Revisado: 06-28-19
I don’t know if there’s such thing as rake cards or grasp files, but the generational blend of old and new resources and detective techniques was clever. I enjoyed the crime investigations and back stories.
