This story is incredible. Makes you cry, makes you mad, makes you hopeful. I hope everyone learns from it.
And beautiful job by Michelle Williams. You can tell so much love went into this, both from the performer and the author.

J'ai adoré cette histoire, j'ai tout de suite écouté le prochain tome. La narration commence lentement, et tout à coup on se retrouve dans le feu de l'action, très cool. Vraiment bien joué, un plaisir à écouter. J'en veux d'autres!

Is there a science to love? In this groundbreaking audiobook, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Amir Levine and psychologist Rachel S. F. Heller reveal how an understanding of attachment theory - the most advanced relationship science in existence today - can help us find and sustain love. Attachment theory forms the basis for many best-selling books on the parent/child relationship, but there has yet to be an accessible guide to what this fascinating science has to tell us about adult romantic relationships - until now.

Most helpful relationship book I have read
Revisado: 03-17-16
This book clarified so much for me: why certain relationships haven't worked, why some were constructive, how to recognize what I need in a relationship, and how to recognize the kind of partner that will provide what I need in order to feel fulfilled in a relationship, and how to give my partner what he needs too. Also gives effective tools fir conflict for each type of person. So constructive. Most helpful book I have ever read.

Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

Heartbreaking, courageous, insightful.
Revisado: 02-25-16
This tragedy was, and is still horrible. But it fell in the hands of Sue Klebold, and for that we should all be grateful: her life's work and insightfulness here are invaluable. Thank you for letting us in on your family's journey through these life shattering events. Thank you for dedicating your skills, passion and curiosity to mental health, in the aftermath of the events. The world needs more people like you, so we can understand our world, and help create a less violent one. I'm just sorry it had to happen because of such a horrifying tragedy. Bless you, and your whole family. Bless us all, for doing our best, with what we have. Let's learn from Sue and Dylan's experience.

Historia
Is it really human nature to stab one another in the back in our climb up the corporate ladder? Competitive, selfish behavior is often explained away as instinctive, thanks to evolution and "survival of the fittest", but in fact, humans are equally hard-wired for empathy. Using research from the fields of anthropology, psychology, animal behavior, and neuroscience, Frans de Waal brilliantly argues that humans are group animals.

Brilliant and incredibly important
Revisado: 02-09-15
The importance of this book cannot be overstated. Finally a look at the biology of one of our most important traits. How empathy is linked to our success as a species is utterly undeniable. And the behavior is much less conscious than we think.
However, after listening to the incredible science behind Empathy, I can't help but feel that consciously widening this vastly unconscious trait's reach with our intellect and consciousness would push our species to the next frontier in our existence.

A leading expert in motivation and personality psychology, Carol Dweck has discovered in more than 20 years of research that our mindset is not a minor personality quirk: it creates our whole mental world. It explains how we become optimistic or pessimistic. It shapes our goals, our attitude toward work, and ultimately predicts whether or not we will fulfull our potential.

Would you listen to Mindset again? Why?
Excellent book. Really made me realize where I stood with my beliefs about my own intelligence, talent, successes and failures. I am relieved to see that I can grow both my talents and intelligence and that it would not necessarily be painful. I can see how my views of success were not conducive to happiness.
What did you learn from Mindset that you would use in your daily life?
I try to practice using the Growth Mindset. And I love learning, so this is fun. Starting new classes soon, let's see what happens!

Historia
Borderline personality disorder, autism, narcissism, psychosis, Asperger's: All of these syndromes have one thing in common---lack of empathy. In some cases, this absence can be dangerous, but in others it can simply mean a different way of seeing the world. In The Science of Evil, Simon Baron-Cohen, an award-winning British researcher who has investigated psychology and autism for decades, develops a new brain-based theory of human cruelty.

Insightful & revolutionary
Revisado: 11-26-14
What made the experience of listening to The Science of Evil the most enjoyable?
In his insightful book, Mr Baron-Cohen suggests that "measures of empathy" be used as both a solution and a system with which to evaluate people on a medical (psychiatric) and societal (judicial) level, rather than with the current labels used to define psychiatric (often perceived as evil) conditions. The writer uses his research to redefine "evil" in a way that gives the reader hope that science can contribute positively to solving our collective moral and world problems. I would have enjoyed more chapters about how and why empathy might fluctuate in a person over time (moments, days, weeks, months, years and life time). But his is a truly revolutionary way of looking at psychology and psychiatry. Incredibly insightful.
What does Jonathan Cowley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great narrator. Loved the pace and clarity.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The last chapter forced me to re examine some of my beliefs.
Any additional comments?
Excellent, excellent book.
