One of my favorite books and part of one of my favorite series, I listen to this one again and again. I hope there are more books about Joy!

I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't want to stop listening to this story and I cannot wait to see what is next. Merliss is a fantastic character and Chapman's world-building is really vivid. Meisberger's performance is beautiful. I'll be looking for the next book in Into the Witch Lands!

Loved the Nocturn Falls books so much that I had to check out Miss Frost and I'm so glad that I did! Jane is fantastic and I can't wait for the next book.

Excellent addition

I was so excited to see this story come to Audible and I cannot wait for Alta and Sanctuary! One of my favorite books of all time.
The story starts a bit slow and there isn't a ton of drama and action in this book, but the world and character building are excellent.

Decent story, narrator ruins it

The other reviews about the narrator are true. She has a weird lilt at the end of every sentence that makes everything sound like a question. Her reading is so off that it kept throwing me out of the story. I'll be avoiding Christine Padovan in the future.
The story is a pretty simple, predictable, slightly ridiculous romance with a HEA.

Good narration, awful story

I listened to the first book in this series and enjoyed it so thought I'd try the second. That was a regrettable decision and not one I'll be making again. It's almost like this book was by a completely different author. the heroine in the first book was strong and awesome.
The woman in this story is a voluptuous, airheaded virgin who gets kidnapped and sold into slavery to aliens. Then she's molested, purchased, kidnapped again, molested and almost raped 2 more times, rescued, traded to the guy that kidnapped her (the second time), beaten, and almost raped again. Hard-freaking-pass.
The only redeeming qualitiy of this book is that she finally realized her own worth and tries to stand up for herself (eventually).
I listen to about 80 books a year and I honestly cannot figure out why I finished this one.

Disappointing

I really enjoyed this series until this book. this one is just so unbelievable and ludicrous, I'm an hour from the end and I can't even finish it.

Over 4 hours in and I'm bored. I just cannot get into this story. I kept listening thinking it would get better, but it hasn't, so I'm giving up.
