Historia
Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn't realize she's heading straight into a blizzard. She never arrives at her destination. Stranded in rural Maine with a dead car and broken ankle, Tegan worries she's made a terrible mistake. Then a miracle occurs: she is rescued by a couple who offers her a room in their warm cabin until the snow clears. But something isn't right.

I always love the twists at the end of Freida’s books.
Revisado: 05-06-25
I will say that this book was a little less of a thriller than other books I have read of Freida’s stories.

Historia
Everyone is hiding a secret. One of them is murder. The book club was her idea, of course. It was her way into our group. A chance to get close. I knew from the day she arrived that she couldn't be trusted. And I was right. Alice didn't come to the village for peace and quiet. She came for revenge. A deliciously addictive psychological thriller about a book club that unravels dark and scandalous secrets between one circle of neighbours.

Wanted to know the reason why the character was causing problems the entire time. The ending was a bit disappointing. It left me hanging .

I liked the mystery of the book but did not like the ending. To predictable and did not make me go wow, did not suspect that!

Historia
Five contestants have been chosen to compete for ten million dollars on the game show One Lucky Winner. The catch? None of them knows what (or who) to expect, and it will be live streamed all over the world. Completely secluded in an estate in Northern California, with strict instructions not to leave the property and zero contact with the outside world, the competitors start to feel a little too isolated.

Synopsis is well-written but misleading. Minimal mystery. Women’s fiction w angsty melodrama.

Even the best of friends keep secrets.
Revisado: 05-06-24
I was astonished when I realized what great length these friends went to keep their secrets from each other. All of them were so caught up in their own lives and their perception of each other that they really did not know each other.
Unfortunately their families suffered. Keeping up with an image can destroy making a beautiful real life for you and your family. This author made a connection to my own life.

Wordy
Revisado: 04-30-24
I love Dean Koontz but this book took too long to get into the meat of the story. It wasn’t until chapter 15 that it got interesting . The descriptive vocabulary took away from the story line. I definitely felt that more of the story could have been developed around the people that were coming after the three main characters.
Usually I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next in Koontz’s books but not this time.

Historia
Surrounded by barren trees in a snow-covered wilderness with a dim, dusky sky forever overhead, Siberia’s Kolyma Highway is 1200 miles of gravel packed permafrost within driving distance of the Arctic Circle. A narrow path where drivers face such challenging conditions as icy surfaces, limited visibility, and an average temperature of 60 degrees below zero, fatal car accidents are common.

Different order story

I did like the story but because the author usually ends books with a twist, I predicted the ending. I was very irritated with the main character.
