Is the narrator under water?

The storyline is excellent, but listening to the narrator has been very difficult. I am about to give up on the book because of it!

I might stop listening & buy the paperback!

Okay! This might be the first book of Slaughter’s I don’t finish listening to because of the narrator. I’ve listened to all of the Will Trent series and I decided to listen to Grant County. The narrator’s voice is so hard to determine between different characters and her tone is irritating. I am 6 hours in and I don’t think I can continue for another 9 hours. I might have to order the paperback and read the book instead of listening.

Finally a more stable relationship

I was actually sad when this book ended. This was one of my favorite books in the series as it provides the details on what happened to Sara in her past. I was happy that Sara is tougher in this book and seems more confident in her abilities to handle her emotions better than in previous books. Will and Sara’s relationship is growing stronger and more stable. This was a refreshing change!

New background Information

I enjoyed the book for the background information about Angie’s background, but I felt it dragged on a little too much. This book was less about Will and more about Angie. I got a little frustrated with Sarah being so whiny about her relationship with Will. Her behavior reminds me of my teenage daughter. I found myself rolling my eyes several times because of her negativity and self pity. She has very little patience with Will and what he is going through. I used to be very pro Sarah and still am, I just hope her insecurities straighten up in the next few books.

Shocking twist

This book had a lot of twist and unexpected surprises that I did not figure out. I listened to the audio version of it and there was a part of the book that actually stopped me from cleaning my house, I sat and started crying! I haven’t had a book do that to me before!

Interesting storyline

This what not your typical, “who did it book.” The main character was strong and determined and the story ended very well. I was pleased with the flow of the events in the book as it transitioned from chapter to chapter. Overall, this has been one of my favorite books!

The Ending was unpredictable!

This was one of the best books that I’ve listened to! I was not expecting the book to end like it did. I thought I had the characters figured out, but there were some interesting twists at the end that turned the story in a different direction. This was an excellent book!

No real plot!

This book annoyed me because it lacked a real plot. It seemed to be centered more around sex than anything! I wanted to fast forward through most of the book just to get to the point. Then to end up at the end with no real explanation or conclusion to anything. It was one of the worst books I’ve read.

Twisted Ending

The book was a little slow in the beginning but quickly picked up towards the middle and then grabbed my attention until I couldn’t stop listening. The ending was full of surprises and had a wowed me in the epilogue!
