Historia
When an intricate old map is found stuffed into the walls of the bistro in Three Pines, it at first seems no more than a curiosity. But the closer the villagers look, the stranger it becomes. Given to Armand Gamache as a gift the first day of his new job, the map eventually leads him to shattering secrets. To an old friend and older adversary. It leads the former Chief of Homicide for the Sûreté du Québec to places even he is afraid to go. But must. And there he finds four young cadets in the Sûreté academy, and a dead professor. And, with the body, a copy of the old, odd map.

Another great book!!!
Revisado: 04-16-25
As always, Ms Penny's books keep me guessing as to what happened and who did it which keeps the story so active. This one was so good...so many revelations, mistakes, losses, and gains. Thanks for another great story!!!

this time the amount of very descriptive sexy scenes actually took away from the book a bit in my opinion. Can't believe that was even possible but there were times I just had to stop listening for a bit as the sex scenes went on and on and on. Still overall was a good book and was nice to see the other side of what was going on with the Rydstrom while Cade was battling his own issues in the previous book.

So far I have truly enjoyed all of the books in this series and Kresley Cole's books in general. Enjoyed the Arcana series as a more young adult series (less sexy times but still plenty of passion) and now this series so far. Narrator is just amazing at bringing each character to life it's hard to believe it's one narrator. And finally, the production quality with the intro and outro music is just so spot on! Loving this series!

Narrator did an awesome job and series wasnt as predictable as some. Still found lots of twists and ending wasnt what I expected but still great. So much emotion in the series and especially in this last book. And I absolutely LOVED the 2 main male characters and their accents. Literally catch myself calling people a "fool" apparently in Cajun French, LOL!

Historia
In her small early-19th-century Welsh town, there is no one quite like Morgana. She is small and quick and pretty enough to attract a suitor, but there are things that set her apart from other girls. Though her mind is sharp she has not spoken since she was a young girl. Her silence is a mystery, as well as her magic - the household objects that seem to move at her command, the bad luck that visits those who do her ill. Concerned for her safety, her mother is anxious to see Morgana married....

A unique twist to the traditional coming of age witch storyline.
Revisado: 09-05-24
Although my biggest frustration in so many fantasy novels is the frequency with which the protagonist (most often when a female) is overly fearful, anxious, or almost whiney in this book it still exists but in a slightly different way that shows more self development of the character. Her unique inability to speak also provides an interesting twist in how things must be communicated. Overall I truly enjoyed this book.

This is the 3rd book I've listened to by this author and every one has been a bit different. I liked the way this book went back and forth through Elizabeth's life story and loved that much was in the diary or journal format. Narrator's Scottish accent near the end of the book seemed off but still much better than I could do so all was great.

Historia
England, 1881. Hereford Cathedral stands sentinel over the city, keeping its secrets, holding long forgotten souls in its stony embrace. Hecate Cavendish speeds through the cobbled streets on her bicycle, skirts hitched daringly high, heading for her new life as Assistant Librarian. But this is no ordinary collection of books. The cathedral houses an ancient chained library, wisdom guarded for centuries, mysteries and stories locked onto its worn, humble shelves. The most prized artifact, however, is the medieval world map which hangs next to Hecate’s desk.

I loved how interesting this book was. So easy to get lost in the story and yet so fantastical. Love the juxtaposition of Christianity and ancient spirituality. I love the romance and steamy scenes in the fantasy of Nora Roberts and Sarah Maas but loved the simplicity and lack of "steamy" in this book as well.

The storyline sucked me in from the beginning. Such a unique concept for a suspense plot. I was constantly wondering what would happen next and was surprised with the plot twists. Of course the romance was great as always and I now honestly want to move to Kentucky. Narrator was amazing as usual as well. So much depth and range that she literally brings the characters to life. Thank you for another fantastic journey!!!
