I switched to this Tim Treloar narrated version for chapter two after suffering through the first chapter of the Don Leslie version. Wow, what a difference.

I found Don Leslie to be laborious, making it difficult to get into the book over the course of three weeks and discouraging me from listening. His narration is far too monotone for my taste, and the voice change between characters was too subtle or nonexistent. The characters lacked life amidst a momentous event. Stunningly dull.

All of that is remedied with Treloar. He brings the characters and story to life. This is the version you want!

After suffering through the first chapter, I switched to Tim Treloar for chapter two today and I'm already enjoying it much more. Just to be sure, I listened to bits of chapter two with Leslie and my feeling is affirmed.
