Historia
Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. When Lydia’s husband’s tell-all profile of Javier, the jefe of the newest drug cartel that has gruesomely taken over the city, is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

The authenticity of the immigrant experience
Revisado: 03-15-25
This book contains outstanding prose and reaches the reader with authentic experiences and emotions of the immigrants’ travels to a safer life on American dirt. The person telling this story is also outstanding, using exactly right voice quality and authentic language. This book is so well written compared to the majority of books produced today. I’m ecstatic that I bought it instead of another trite mystery story. Everyone should read it. The story tells the truth of the suffering of many immigrants. Especially, President Donald Trump should read this book.

Historia
Cody Hoyt, while a brilliant cop, is an alcoholic struggling with two months of sobriety when his mentor and AA sponsor Hank Winters is found burned to death in a remote mountain cabin. At first it looks like the suicide of a man who's fallen off the wagon, but Cody knows Hank better than that. Sober for fourteen years, Hank took pride in his hard-won sobriety and never hesitated to drop whatever he was doing to talk Cody off a ledge. When Cody takes a closer look at the scene of his friend's death, it becomes apparent that foul play is at hand.

Outstanding mystery and characterization!
Revisado: 10-30-24
Loved the National Park mountain setting, the very perplexing mystery and the well developed characters, especially the outlier hero! Again loved the setting. Great reader voices! Best mystery I’ve heard in two years!

Exciting. No lag in middle. Well constructed characters and building action. I liked the hero’s and hated the antiheros who were despicable!

A pendulum of a plot!
Revisado: 09-14-24
Back and forth the plot winds, upper hand, lower hand, twisting inside out and back again. Excellent suspense and plotting. Narrator was right on for all characters and actions! Great book! It was a bit short but the plot and characters demanded it end!

Historia
Packed with new reporting, Tired of Winning: Donald Trump and the End of the Grand Old Party tracks Trump’s improbable journey from disgraced and defeated former president to the dominant force, yet again, in the Republican Party. From his exile in Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump has become more extreme, vengeful, and divorced from reality than he was on January 6, 2021. His meddling damaged the GOP’s electoral prospects and his legal troubles were mounting. Yet he re-emerged as the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, and the president-elect.

People are listening to and planning on voting for Donald Trump the actor, master of crisis creation, and leader who has no ethics, moral compass, or vision for the future and survival of the USA. This book makes these points clear!

5x I thought the story was at an end, but there was always more of his story, her story, their story to unfold and share—like the gestation, birth and finally the taking home of a new baby, but it was a timeless relationship instead.

Historia
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He’s gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him. The haunt is on.

How younger women can be duped by predators
Revisado: 04-15-24
The story is told by 3 murdered young women who met the predator through a dating service or at a bar. It is a well told tale of caution emphasizing that one cannot know people through repeated casual contact, through a dating service that scans for appropriate people, by a person looking handsome and being charming, or even if the person goes out of your life for a year then can return seeking vengeance. This book should be read by groups in middle school and high school. There were no rape scenes, which makes this story palatable for ages 13 and up.
