Historia
In this rollicking, rollercoaster ride of a novel, Hap Collins and Leonard Pine take a break from their day jobs to search for Florida Grange, Leonard's drop-dead gorgeous lawyer and Hap's former lover, who has vanished in the Klan-infested East Texas town of Grovetown. Before she disappeared, Florida was digging up some dirt behind the mysterious jailhouse death of a legendary black bluesman's son, who was in possession of some priceless blues recordings. To Hap and Leonard, something doesn't smell right.

Deep story but also a very enjoyable mistyery
Revisado: 03-26-12
What did you like best about this story?
This story deals with many serious themes , including racism, homosexuality and male friendship. Albeit they are considered seriously, this is not a treatese but a mistery, The light banter between the two main characters, that they keep going even in the most grivious situations, also helps the reading. In summary, the story has depth, but it is a good mistery and a pageturner (... or the equivalent for an audiobook)
What does Phil Gigante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I have only a very sketchy knowledge of inflections in various areas of the US, and surely listening to the performer helped me.there. The fact that he has a pleasant voice also helped.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I was hooked, and sometimes scared of what was coming, like in a good story.

Historia
Mort, like many teenagers, is gangly, unpromising, and struggling with a menial job - in his case, as Death's apprentice. He can barely handle his simple task of ushering souls out of Discworld, but he really screws up when he meets the beautiful Princess Keli, who is scheduled to be assassinated.

Another entertaining entrance in the Discworld ser
Revisado: 02-22-12
What made the experience of listening to Mort the most enjoyable?
I really love Pratchett's witty humor. His style is unique and always enjoyable. The man can really play with words, and also encase some really sharp concepts in a lot of humor. I am not a reader of phantasy books, but for Pratchett I always am happy to make an exception.
What did you like best about this story?
The story is the usual absurdity concoted by Pratchett, but you will end to care for Mort and the other characters, including Death.
What does Nigel Planer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His voice is the ideal guide to the Discworld, perfect to emphasize Pratchett's wit

Another solid entry in the Spenser series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the whole Spenser series by Robert Parker.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I like the dialogue, and Spenser's crisp humour in dealing with small town corrupted cops, drug dealers and his pal Hawks. Least interesting is all the love fluff with his girlfriend. This entry is not the best in the series, but the background quality of the writing is always there.
What about Michael Prichard’s performance did you like?
I simply adore his slightly metallic voice, whether he is reading the Spenser's novels by Robert Parker or the Nero Wolfe's novels by Rex Stout. He is perfect in both roles.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not laugh otu loud, but it is witty
