Historia
Once upon a time, when her dad married Sage’s mom, Daisy was thrilled to get a bright and shiny new sister. But Sage was beautiful and popular, everything Daisy was not, and she made sure Daisy knew it. Sage didn't have Daisy's smarts—she had to go back a grade to enroll in the fancy rich-kid school. So she used her popularity as a weapon, putting Daisy down to elevate herself. After the divorce, the stepsisters' rivalry continued until the final, improbable straw: Daisy married Sage's first love, and Sage fled California.

An alright story with a sh$#& ending. **SPOILERS**
Revisado: 06-17-21
This is my second Susan Mallery story. I decided to get this book because the first one wasn't bad. The story is about Daisy and her relationship with her sister Cassidy and stepsister Sage. There has always been an extreme hatred directed at Daisy thanks to her former stepmother's influence on the girls. After Cassidy had an accident the sisters came together to help her recover. Throughout the whole book we see how the sisters are getting to know each other and how they repair their broken relationship. The story was easy to get into and the characters had some depth. The story line was more or less believable but at the end it took a turn to an alternate universe. As the story went on it seemed that the sisters were not just getting along but also growing personally. Sadly this did not last long. Sage slept with Daisy's husband because things were going so good for her, and she was uncomfortable with how good things were going. I was so put off by the fact that Daisy forgave Sage, the woman that slept with her husband, and invited her to live with her and her children. It took this woman two whole weeks to get over the fact that her stepsister slept with her husband. One second she's not allowed in the house and the next she is being told that she needs to fight for her family. The ending was simply a crappy, rushed mess. I would swallow a whole pair of jeans dry before I forgave anyone after they slept with my husband and I can assure you that that person would never put a foot inside my home ever again. The fact that Sage went to Adam's house to ask for forgiveness, after she cheated on him, and he forgave her made me sick to my stomach. There were no real consequences to her bad behavior. She got everything she wanted even when she was a cheater and a back stabber. Tanya Eby did a great job with the narration. This book should have been called "A back stabbing bully gets her happy ending" I am not sure i want to recommend this book but enter at your own risk.

I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS...
Revisado: 01-27-19
I am a huge Robyn Carr fan. I just love her writing style. I was really looking forward to this book. Sullivan's Crossing is one of my favorite Series but this book fell a bit short for me. What a huge difference from "The Family Gathering". I felt like there were a few things missing from it. Where was Sully's Wisdom? Where was the real story? What about the main characters' interactions? For most of the book we are being told that the main characters were "too busy" to see each other. I wanted to love this book but I wanted a bit more. I found myself simply disliking both main characters. At First Rob doesn't want a real relationship then Leigh turns it around and she's the one not wanting a relationship. Leigh with her teenage drama had me hoping the book would end quickly. Even Sully's romance fell short. Ugh I will re-listen because it's what I do but it won't be until the next instalment is due to come out (assuming there will be another).

Until one night, there was Adalind Hollis - scared, confused, in need of help. And for the first time, he couldn't convince himself to walk away, to mind his own business. Such a great story!
Revisado: 05-10-18
I am a long time JG reader and I really loved this story. JG has the ability to create this lovable characters with very different and well developed back stories. I enjoy how strong her female characters are. Her male characters are so loving and caring of their women, not perfect but they always have that "protect my woman" thing that I can't get enough of. Ward a man with a really difficult past and Adelind with her sweet amd trusting personality make such a great couple. I just love how she does a nice and long epilogue (something not many writers do. BTW THANK YOU JG). Both narrators did a great job.

Historia
Deacon has an ugly history, a history that broke him, leaving him a ghost of a man. Out of necessity he left the normal world to descend into the criminal world and found he fit. So he stayed. Cold as ice and living off the grid, Deacon has no intention to connect, not with anyone. Then he returns to some remote cabins in the Colorado Mountains and finds they have new owners. One of them is Cassidy Swallow, a young woman willing to work hard to live her quiet dream in a house by a river surrounded by aspen and pine.

Good
Revisado: 01-09-18
I have listened to this book multiple times and I really like it. I enjoyed Deacon and Cassy's relationship. All the secrets aside I really liked the respect Deacon had for Cassy. I enjoyed their bedroom life also. I liked Stella Bloom as a narrator. She really gave the characters life. I didn't give this book 5 stars and was seriously considering giving it 3 stars because of "Beautiful War" (chapter 16). The song "Beautiful War" is the worst make up song ever. I listened to it and Googled the lyrics and it made no sense to me why the song was chosen. The whole make up scene was cringe worthy. I understand they are into kink but Deacon tied to a bed with a. butt plug doesn't seem fitting. I really don't want to sound judgemental but I just didn't like it. I would recommend this book and I will listen to it again but might skip the chapter all together.

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

I really loved this book. NR has not written a book this good in a while. This story is not a NR romance novel, it is her version of the apocalypse. The narrator is just amazing. Totally worth the credit.

Revisado: 09-27-17
I absolutely love this story. CB gives us another awesome story. A few new characters mixed with old ones (The Weekday gang is back ) to create a story you won't be able to put down. The narrator is just amazing. Ms. Wilder gives each character their own voice and made my experience so enjoyable. This story and this narrator are the perfect combination. I cannot wait for the other stories in this series.

Don't waste your time
Revisado: 08-31-17
I am beyond blown away by all the 5 stars this piece of garbage got. This book doesn't belong as the final book of the Magdalene Series. I am so disappointed with this whole book. I need to start with the narrator, Why change a narrator that worked so well before (The Will and Soaring)? Her breathy whispers just made me cringe. To hear the old characters in her voice (which did not change from character to character) completely killed me. She couldn't even pronounce the names correctly. I really hate how KA portays women as weak, dumb, clueless and without a backbone. Every time one of the characters said "Pardon? What? Sorry?" after a statement was spoken to them made me want to scream. To have a main character that is totally ignored and mistreated by the "hero" jump in bed with him at the snap of his fingers because he changed his mind is pitiful. Coert was cruel to her and she just took it. Cady was the type of woman we pray our daughters never become. The introduction of a bunch of new characters was so unnecessary (try to keep them all straight) and to make all interaction with the old characters to be so meaningless is a crime. I was expecting a lot better from KA. I found myself just begging for the book to be over. This was such a disappointment. I was so excited that this book was finally being printed/recorded. That epilogue was simply garbage. If you really want to know the ending go to the last 5 minutes of the book and you'll know everything without the waste of 19 hours of your life.

Alright
Revisado: 06-07-17
This book is alright. What really kept me coming back was Alice's story. I shed some tears for Alice and everything that she went through. While Bo and Cal are the main characters Alice's abduction and life are the real story lines. I have to say there was no real romance drama or real crazy romance story just a couple that used to be attracted to each other (when they were kids) that got reunited. Jesse and Chase's quirky romance was a lot more interesting. The narrator was great. She did a great Job bringing the characters to life. I always wish the ending included a bit more. The epilogue needed to be more detailed maybe a look into the future.

I honestly really struggled to finish it. The story is just weak. Who on earth sits in a cafe for hours waiting for someone they have a crush on since the beginning of time just so they could watch them? Hannah that's who. Hannah's pre-adolescent behavior and vocabulary just drove me nuts. Sadly the narrator made Hannah sound even more like an Air head. Hannah is not bad ass heroine she's just an over grown child. I would NOT recommend this book at all.

I love KB. She just had these sweet stories. No major breakups, triangles or silly fights. This book closes the chapter of the murder of Joann's father. I loved Jo and Gil. While I was able to figure out some of the secrets way before the end I really enjoyed the story. I love to see what the characters of the other 2 books are doing. Would've loved to have a forwarded epilogue. I would have LOVED to see Jo married and with a bunch of kids.
