Historia
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Sappy but good!
Revisado: 08-23-24
Worth the listen, but somewhat predictable, just in a good way. Good chacterization and story line.

A Strong Woman Book
Revisado: 04-28-23
Maybe because the women in this book were strong, or realized their strength, that I was so drawn to the story. The performance was so good, always makes a difference with me. I found myself laughing because of how the narrator changed her vouce, soooo good!!

There was a reason
Revisado: 08-29-22
why she chose an unknown author, that is how this story keeps you, I had to know why and it didn't dissapoint. Very interesting book, though I was a little disappointed in the narrator, hard sometimes to distinguish between characters particularly when Evelyn and St James had alot of dialogue. Overall it's a good listen and good story.

Just didn't quite make the A list!
Revisado: 08-24-22
I think this could have been a much better book, definitely a better audio book. Fell flat, I found myself lost in my own thoughts, normally I would rewind so I didn't miss something, but not in this book. Storyline and lead up to the point of the story was so drawn out with attemps to build characterization of young lesbian women I became bored. Being lesbian I found it hard to relate and the usage of certain vocabulary unrealistic. Was very glad I made it to the end so I could move on.

I know you. I know you in a way you can’t even imagine. I have been searching for you in the years since you wrote that letter - the letter that told me you were looking for me too. But now that I’ve found you, I don’t know if I can say the terrible truth of what I am. It would ruin your perfect life. It would hurt your beautiful daughter. So, I hesitate - bide my time, for now.

No super dramatics, just a good story
Revisado: 05-16-22
It's a good story, believable and insight into the thoughts someone might truly have when being dealt a hard hand in life. The performance was great, I could tell each character by the narrators inflections, which is a plus for me.

Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Predictable but entertaining

I thought the storyline was good, though for the most part predictable. You found yourself hoping Molly the maid would find the truth and get her revenge. Characterization was good. Narrator was good.

Historia
Little River, New York, 1994: April Sawicki is living in a motorless motorhome that her father won in a poker game. Failing out of school, picking up shifts at a local diner, she’s left fending for herself in a town where she’s never quite felt at home. When she “borrows” her neighbor’s car to perform at an open mic night, she realizes her life could be much bigger than where she came from. After a fight with her dad, April packs her stuff and leaves for good, setting off on a journey to find a life that’s all hers.

Kept me interested, frustrated and baffled
Revisado: 02-03-22
Interested because I wanted to know what April would do next, her experiences, her courage, the journey, the people she met along the way, the love she found and lost and of course Julia Whelan delivered beautifully, she is one of my favorite narrators. Frustrating because it was obvious she was beautiful, she always stood by what she knew and loved which was her music, it frustrated me because I wanted her to succeed, but she didn't see in herself that she could. Baffled because she sheltered herself in a way that not only hurt her, but those around her, I just didn't understand why. Truth is, I've never had to experience what she did, that old cliche "II don't walk in her shoes", but I know many do. I won't spoil the ending, but it did make me cry....I'll just leave it there.

Thought Provoking
Revisado: 09-01-21
The book is fictional, we, at least I don't have life altering visitations from a God of the darkness who I offer my soul to in return for something I couldn't have on my own, not in reality. But, it rings true in what we endure in every day life, what we take for granted. How would I be if I wasn't remembered one second to the next? Thought provoking book in my opinion on many levels, but I have to confess, I love the narrator Julia Wellan, my search for books she narrates was how I found this book, and she did not disappoint. Obviously this book isn't for everyone, but seems most find it quite good, I did and I highly recommend you give it a listen.

Really impressed with the narrator's characterization skills making it easy to distinguish each person. Storyline is sweet and hopeful, I laughed outloud at times, always a good sign.
