Historia
Sadie Grace is wanted for witchcraft, dead (or alive). And every hired gun in Kansas is out to collect the bounty on her head, including bonafide witch hunter Old Tom and his mysterious, mute ward Rabbit. On the road to Burden County, they’re joined by two vagabond cowboys with a strong sense of adventure–but no sense of purpose–and a recently widowed schoolteacher with nothing left to lose. And as their posse grows, so too does the danger.

Very surprised at how good this is.
Revisado: 12-23-24
Excellent storytelling. Great characters. Plenty of mature horror themes and a good sense of the time period. More than anything, the narration is KILLER. I want this guy to narrate everything I listen to from now on.

FLUFF.
Revisado: 09-29-22
Boy oh boy… this book has a LOT of fluff. So much unnecessary text. So many unnecessary explanations. It was pretty difficult to power through this one.

The master at his scarifying best! From heart-pounding terror to the eeriest of whimsy - tales from the outer limits of one of the greatest imaginations of our time! Trucks that punish and beautiful teen demons who seduce a young man to massacre; curses whose malevolence grows through the years; obscene presences and angels of grace - here, indeed, is a night-blooming bouquet of chills and thrills.

Not for me.
Revisado: 06-26-22
Not for me.
I’m a big time King fan. But, I think this short story format just isn’t for me. Hard to get into each story and when I do, it’s over and onto the next. King is still good and this collection proves that, but it’s just not for me.

Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Something unexpected
Revisado: 04-22-22
With a title with as much clout as The Exorcist, I was coming into expecting a thrill. I was not, however, expecting it to be as good as it actually is. This story is indeed thrilling, but it is also extremely well-written and the narration of this audiobook is top tier. I am very sure this is one story I will revisit many more times over the years.

Old King at his best
Revisado: 10-30-21
I have to say that I was a bit worried and very curious about this book. King himself has said he hates it, going on to say that he was on cocaine throughout the entirety of its conception. So, again, I was a bit worried and very curious about this book. But, King, cocaine or not, is in peek condition here, writing as well as ever and taking us for a fun ride. Though the story lacks quantum complexity, it’s still rock solid and feels like one of King’s old classics.

Victor Bevine is great, as always. However, though there are some really cool and exciting themes and actions involved in this story, I found it almost completely and wildly unintelligible.

No, thanks.
Revisado: 05-13-21
Will Payton was great, as always. But, I
if this is the measure of Hemingway, then I’d say he isn’t much worth the fame. The story is all over the place and doesn’t stitch up in a skillful way. The use of the N word (I understand it was written in a different era) is frustrating and needless. The blubbering nature of his attempt to depict a characters thought process is like a senseless child’s essay.

This story is an interesting look behind the scenes of some of the happenings, prior to the Covenant’s departure. It also managed to answered a few questions I had after watching the movie; like, why don’t they have a second landing craft?

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Atrocious Narration
Revisado: 07-10-19
Now, I like Will Patton, as an actor. I think he doesn’t get enough credit for that. But, his narration of Doctor Sleep is its very own nightmare. For one, he sounds too similar to Donald Trump. And two, to say that he’s overly dramatic is an understatement.

Good story, dubious story telling
Revisado: 06-06-19
The narration is... a little difficult to stomach, at first. Within a couple of hours, you’ll get used to it. It probably would have been a good idea to have this guy read only the Dracula parts and have someone else narrate the rest of the book. But, all in all, worth this time and money.
