Totally Different from Book 1
Revisado: 01-28-23
This was a difficult book to finish. Completely different from book 1 and not in a good way. I did not like the protagonist at all. I will read the next book in the series and decide if I wish to continue. I still like the Joe Dillard series best. I know Scott Pratt has passed, which is so sad, the little I knew about him made me feel like he was a good person and family man. I know he loved his wife and that made me appreciate him more.

Now the hotheaded young lawyer is in the public eye yet again - this time, accused of murder. Jalen Jordan retained Street for what seemed to be a minor traffic violation, but when evidence turned up linking Jordan to the death of two boys, Street wanted out of the case.

Just Began the Darren Street Series
Revisado: 01-26-23
I am so glad I read the 1st book in the Darren Street series. I had read the entire Joe Diliard series and enjoyed each book. I am glad I was able to get it as an Audible book, as I am dealing with an eye injury making it impossible to read or exposure to prolonged light.

Historia
Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier, for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

Loved this book, story and characters. I know of some young people saddled with huge debt from under grad and MA studies debt. I always return to John Gresham books, most of the time they are hard to put down.

Totally Enjoyed
Revisado: 03-05-22
I was surprised how much I liked this book. I understand this is the first book from this author and I am looking forward to more. The cast of narrators was excellent. I love when there is more than 1 narrator. If I could I wish had been able to read more in one day but life gets in the way.

Great Story
Revisado: 01-06-20
I highly recommend this book. The story of a lay midwife held me unable to put it down. I am an RN,I had my children aprox 38 years ago with top doctor's,in an excellent hospital with a NICU Unit. It was a horrible experience, they would not let me walk and kept me flat while I labored. Probably the worst position to labor in. My daughter had my grandson with a wonderful nurse midwife, in a hospital. It was to be an underwater birth, my daughter got out of the tub as she became too hot. She gave birth on a birthing stool, and the midwife" caught" my grandson. My daughter had a doula who was wonderful and a great help also. She got to hold him right away, no episiotomy at all. He was the most peaceful baby I have ever seen. I believe in certified nurse midwives affiliated with a hospital. If you are high risk that is a completely different situation. Many years ago there midwives who were not nurses, probably in my grandmother's time, as they lived in rural areas.

The Other Daughter
Revisado: 01-04-20
I have been enthralled by this book, barely able to put it down. The ending took me totally by surprise. I will read other books by this author. It amazes me how the writer was able to have the talent to come up with the idea and write this twisted story. I highly recommend it to others. I don't usually leave reviews but this is totally deserving of the 5 star rating.

Historia
When reporter Ellen Gleeson gets a "Have You Seen This Child?" flyer in the mail, she almost throws it away. But something about it makes her look again, and her heart stops—the child in the photo is identical to her adopted son, Will. Her every instinct tells her to deny the similarity between the boys, because she knows her adoption was lawful. But she's a journalist and won't be able to stop thinking about the photo until she figures out the truth. And she can't shake the question: if Will rightfully belongs to someone else, should she keep him or give him up?

Great Idea
Revisado: 12-15-19
I was engrossed in this book. I can't imagine what I would if put in that situation. Usually I feel like a good person and would have to tell the truth. This book ended on a happy note, I was not expecting that. There are so many missing children in this country, what would I do in that situation? I pray that missing children find there way home to the loved ones left behind. In this area a little girl went missing while playing in a park with her younger brother. They have not found her as of yet. My heart goes out to the mother. There is a electronic billboard I pass on my way to work, her picture and info are there. I hope she is somehow brought home soon.

I have enjoyed all the DI Natalie Ward books. This by far was the best. Completely held my attention. Carol Wyer author, just keeps getting better with each book. The ending was unexpected. I hope there be more books with DI Natalie Ward, but this sets a high bar to meet.
