Historia
Self-initiation is killing our young men. Without strong mentors, boys are walking alone into a wilderness of conflicting messages about who they should be as men. It's no wonder that our sons are confused about what the world expects from them and what they should expect of themselves. The Intentional Father is the antidote. This concise book is filled with practical steps to help men raise sons of consequence—young men who know what they believe, know who they are, and will stand up against the negative cultural trends of our day.

A very good approach and plan for Christian fathers raising their sons
Revisado: 09-30-23
A heartfelt and well thought out presentation of enormously important principles for Christian fathers to grasp. Probably seems overwhelming to most modern day fathers,. However, as a father of three boys and grandfather of five boys I resonate with his heart. I look back with some regret on my shortcomings in this area, but I did have a plan, and saw the benefits of being intentional, even though not to the measure, he puts forth. I’ll be encouraging my sons to read this, pray for a plan of action, and be there to encourage its completion.

Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Thorough, authoritative, and enticing
Revisado: 04-27-23
John Hands deconstructs many of the popular “end of the world”prognostications in a relatively quick yet thorough critique. Although, sometimes a bit dry for the non-scientifically inclined, his eventual conclusion of our next evolution into a collective cosmic consciousness is novel, and worthy of consideration.

Historia
As a lifelong student of Scripture, Kathie Lee Gifford has always desired a deeper understanding of God's word and a deeper knowledge of God himself. But it wasn't until she began studying the biblical texts in their original Hebrew and Greek - along with actually hiking the ancient paths of Israel - that she found the fulfillment of those desires. As you journey through The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi, you'll also find additional content from Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel throughout the book.

Great foundation, poor structure.
Revisado: 12-10-22
The underlying faith and truth of this book is marvelous. We have a great God, who loves us, and comes to us to save us. Kathy’s passion for her saving faith is obvious. However, the rabbi’s many paths down the road of numerology of Hebrew words, and sometimes completely ignoring the grammatical and historical context (forcing it into Hebrew, when it was likely spoken in Aramaic) becomes not only erroneous, but intolerable at times. God’s word does indeed have many deep and mysterious meanings, but don’t make up some just to have an appearance of mysticism, erudite education, or insight. Stick to the text.

Historia
In this remarkable recording, C. S. Lewis shows why millions of readers have acclaimed him the greatest spokesman for Christianity in the 20th century. In a resonant, baritone voice, Lewis explores the nature of the four Greek words that are translated love in English: storge (affection), philia (friendship), eros (sexual or romantic love) and agape (selfless love).

Since the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision in 2015, sexual identity has dominated both public discourse and cultural trends — yet no historical phenomenon is its own cause. From Augustine to Marx, various views and perspectives have contributed to the modern understanding of the self.

Revisado: 05-28-22
Certainly the deepest book I’ve gone through on evaluating what brought us to where we are now, and how it can be viewed socially, sexually, politically and ethically as a downward curve. Caused me to reread some old philosophers as well as new. Although deep in the history and evaluation, a little shallow in the modern day application but hopefully stimulating more thought and action.

Historia
Since its original publication nine years ago, Leadership and Self-Deception has become an international word-of-mouth phenomenon. Rather than tapering off, it has sold more copies each year since 2004 than it did in any of the first four years after publication. The book's central insight - that the key to leadership lays not in what we do, but in who we are - has proved to have powerful resonances not only for organizational leadership, but in fans' personal lives as well.

2/3 of the way there.
Revisado: 09-14-19
First, my comments may be jaded because of an underlying concern I had: the download was improperly edited. Three or four different times the recording repeats a previous section and one time it skips forward. I’m unable to tell you exactly how much was skipped over. I’m not sure if this type of error occurs during a normal download on my phone over LTE, but it has never happened previously.
That being the background, I think the 2/3 that this book does a good job in is first-identifying a major problem in people relationships, and second putting forth a framework of dealing with it. Unfortunately, the third part- practical steps of implementation is not included.

What did the writer of Genesis mean by "the first day"? Is it a literal week or a series of time periods? If I believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, am I denying the authority of Scripture? In response to the continuing controversy over the interpretation of the creation narrative in Genesis, John Lennox proposes a succinct method of reading and interpreting the first chapters of Genesis without discounting either science or Scripture.

A refreshing scholarly approach that does not leave the lay person lost in mumbo-jumbo. As a scientist I appreciated his accuracy and honesty including acknowledging the limit of what he could address in a single book. The appendixes are worth expanding upon in subsequent writings if he chooses to do so but are excellent filler for what he does not address in the chapters. Definitely a great book to get people started in looking at Genesis scientifically without eliminating the process of a supreme God intervening.
