I really enjoyed the parts that spoke about problem solving, where Paul and Ari drew inspiration from and how they implemented those ideas into their business. I loved to hear about the attempts at sharing success with their workers, but not in depth enough to satisfy. Lots of overly descriptive repetitive food descriptions. Really appreciated the story of the memphis bake house and how zingttain helped deliver focus and success but still, where the how? There can and should be more written about this special and beautiful experiment.

Low budget but still great.

My favorite aspect of Dan Pfeiffer's insight is his experience with political ads and messaging. As a branding/advertising veteran it is always exciting to meet a client that is genuinely familiar and curious about the power of branding. Dan Pfeiffer's books get better and better but the production on this one is awkwardly spliced-together. Remember that execution is as important as ideas!

I moved to Detroit 5 years ago and have finally gotten a chance to dig in and learn more about city. I Loved this book, I look forward to investigating Mayor Pingree and the Reuther brothers more in depth. This book covers a lot quickly, I found myself having to take breaks a lot as the areas racial problems were detailed, very tough to stomach. Overall, so appreciative that this book exists.
