Most of us believe that our happiness depends on the outside world - and that by solving our problems, improving our relationships, or achieving success, we will find contentment. In You Can Be Happy No Matter What, Dr. Richard Carlson shows that happiness has nothing to do with forces beyond our control. His simple and practical guide teaches 5 principles for discovering a new mode of living that doesn't repress natural emotions, yet where feelings and thoughts don't overwhelm us.

A unique approach
Revisado: 09-29-22
Turns traditional psychology therapy methods on its head. Why focus on all your problems, resentments or roadblocks. Doing so only invites more despair. With contentment as our goal, we can learn to feel peace in the present moment by ignoring our disturbing thoughts. Give me a break
Revisado: 06-01-22
I was looking forward to this book after all the rave reviews. Instead I wasted my 1 credit.
A shallow storyline.. with plenty of soft porn thrown in. A cheesy romance where everyone is worldly, rich and beautiful.
If you are looking for good writing with an actual plot and characters with substance..look elsewhere!

Just step out your door today, and you will notice that poise is a rarity in our wired, fast-paced, and unmannerly world. As uncivil behaviors like flip-flops at Broadway shows and digital oversharing proliferate, this timely book reminds us of the quiet power of behaving with dignity, kindness, and grace. Jennifer L. Scott's Parisian mentor, Madame Chic, embodied poise and not just with the good posture, stylish attire, and natural manners that made her extraordinarily elegant.

Great book. I love how Jennifer uses examples of so many life situations that can “ rattle” our poise.
She covers every facet that relates to style , confidence and becoming poised.
