Historia
Most people can tell you two things about Clarence Thomas: Anita Hill accused him of sexual harassment, and he almost never speaks from the bench. Here are some things they don’t know: Thomas is a Black nationalist. In college he memorized the speeches of Malcolm X. He believes white people are incurably racist. Corey Robin - one of the foremost analysts of the right - delves deeply into both Thomas’s biography and his jurisprudence, masterfully reading his Supreme Court opinions against the backdrop of his autobiographical and political writings and speeches.

Learned some things
Revisado: 01-26-22
It revealed some things I didn't know about Thomas and confirmed things I did. I had no clue that he started as a young radical Black Nationalist and a Black Panther. The book never really explained what really changed his world view.

A very good overview
Revisado: 09-10-21
This is a good introduction to Bismarck. Vital to understanding modern Germany and Europe. We mostly get the British version of European history. It's refreshing to get other points of view.

Historia
According to the 2010 US census, more than 70 percent of Black women in America are unmarried. Black Women, Black Love reveals how four centuries of laws, policies, and customs have created that crisis. Dianne Stewart begins in the colonial era, when slave owners denied Blacks the right to marry, divided families, and, in many cases, raped enslaved women and girls. Later, during Reconstruction and the ensuing decades, violence split couples again as millions embarked on the Great Migration north.

Cherry picked feminism
Revisado: 11-26-20
Usual black feminist writing. Black women are the eternal victims. The same old story of black women being single because of the poor selection of black men.
The hid old tropes in a sea of cherry picked studies and historical facts. Don't bother reading this if you're a black man.

The story was very slow. It had a point that was hard to find. Once I realized it was a prequel it made sense.

Phillip "Catfish" Worry is a 92-year-old Mississippi bluesman who needs Leonid's help with a simple task: Deliver a letter revealing the black lineage of a wealthy heiress and her corrupt father. The worst Bourne Book
Revisado: 09-16-16
This is the worst Bourne Book I've heard I wish I could get a refund. I've given half the book a try and can't get into it. Maybe some characters run out of stories. I think BV this one has.
This book reminds me of.the Star Wars reboot. It's sold by it's name only.

The project was simple: An attractive, successful magazine journalist, Robin Rinaldi, would move into a San Francisco apartment, join a dating site, and get laid. Never mind that she already owned a beautiful flat a few blocks away, that she was 44, or that she was married to a man she'd been in love with for 18 years. What followed - a year of sex, heartbreak, and unexpected revelation - is the topic of this riveting memoir, The Wild Oats Project.
