I'll remember who Logan Jacobs is and never buy another one of his books. I'm honestly not sure what's worse the writing or the male voice actor. Did they find the voice actor in a middle school drama club? That's what his voices remind me of.

Just bad

I'm not sure if the author actually read anything he wrote down. The MC is supposed to be some brilliant guy that came up with all these in game abilities. So you would assume he had some basic ability to do some rudimentary reasoning.

You'd be wrong. This MC is probably the stupidest character I have ever had the displeasure of hearing about. In every situation where he holds an advantage he somehow manages to flail his way into a near loss. But don't worry the author will save him at the last second or give him a way out.

The rules of the world themselves constantly shift to make things more dramatic. By the end it's just easier to ignore whatever rules the author writes because he will inevitably ignore them.

It's about what you'd expect from a book of it's type. Not really a stand out but definitely not the worst I've ever seen. Had to give it a few bonus points for having both a male and female VA of quality.

One Star And Return

This book is maybe an hour of content in total stretched out to make the most boring filler book. The main character's personality has regressed. The enemies are all blatant and poorly written. This might honestly be the worst book tao wong has written.

Almost great

I had high hopes for this story and at first it was fulfilling them. Until about half way through when the best friend female side character loses all spine and becomes a swooning idiot.

Worst of all is the sheer impossibility and laziness of the situation. The bad guy suddenly becomes a misunderstood guy with a tragic backstory. And said tragic backstory somehow makes everyone forget he tired to murder the mc in cold blood.

When someone tires to murder your best friend you don't sudden fall for them when you find out some sad crap in their past.

If it was just a background thing it probably wouldn't have lowered my rating as far as it did. But it is a constant and frequently brought up thing after about half way in the book. At some point you just get tired of hearing about the arrogant a hole's misunderstood self.

A Flop

This book is almost like the author completely forgot the story. He writes in numerous plot holes and problems that didn't exist before. Magics up an enemy that is somehow both impossibly strong and weak at the same time. Not to mention the multiple times the narrator mixed up the voices. It's honestly very frustrating for a series that had a pretty good story to be dropped in the mud like this entry was.

I'm going to listen to number 7 but if it's as bad as this one I'll drop the series.

This book reads like some guy's private fantasy. It should have stayed private. The characters are lacking, the story doesn't make much sense and the MC's motivation is basically "I'm here so why not".
Hell the author used his own name for the MC that never bodes well.

Meh

Pretty mediocre on the grand scale. It has alot of potential but the author just didn't capitalize on what could have been great.

There were alot of moments that were just to convenient. Not to mention the sheer number of times something happen "just as" something else was.

Overall this is a return for me. I might read the future books to see if the author improves but I won't be buying anymore of the audibles.
