Historia
Life isn’t linear, and yet we try to mold it around linear goals: four-year college degrees, ten-year career plans, thirty-year mortgages. What if instead we approached life as a giant playground for experimentation? Based on ancestral philosophy and the latest scientific research, Tiny Experiments provides a desperately needed reframing: Uncertainty can be a state of expanded possibility and a space for metamorphosis. Neuroscientist and entrepreneur Anne-Laure Le Cunff reveals that all you need is an experimental mindset to turn challenges into self-discovery and doubt into opportunity.

Love this fresh approach to creating a vibrant life and career!
Revisado: 03-11-25
Tiny Experiments unveils a new way to approach the things you want to accomplish- as experiments rather than goals. By creating a pact with yourself to focus on your efforts, not your results, you can enjoy the process and tweak along the way without feeling like you are giving up when changes are needed. At the end of the pact you decide what's next! by focusing on action, you take steps and do the work, which is what simply setting a goal may lack. Can't wait to start running the tiny experiments for myself!

Do you find yourself hoping that someday, life will be less hectic? One day, you say, you’ll finally have time for the activities that you love–writing that book, completing that triathlon, traveling with friends. But if the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that life is unpredictable. If we’re not careful, dull, unfulfilling tasks can quickly occupy our precious hours, derail our best-laid plans, and make life feel like a slog.

Revisado: 06-27-22

Historia
As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

Effortless is Essential
Revisado: 01-04-22
Effortless is a life changing book. A follow up to Essentialism, it provides clear strategies on doing what matters most with maximum joy and the simplest execution possible. At first, many ideas seem counterintuitive, but when you go a little deeper they are both natural and true. One does not become an essentialist overnight, and it does take some up front work to be effortless. With regular practice, the willingness to try new things, and learn from our mistakes we can achieve a life that is truly ours, with as much joy and fulfillment as we can allow. This book will be on my shelves and recommended reading list for years to come.

Why do so many of us stop learning new skills as adults? Are we afraid to be bad at something? Have we forgotten the sheer pleasure of beginning from the ground up? Inspired by his young daughter’s insatiable curiosity, Tom Vanderbilt embarks on a yearlong quest of learning - purely for the sake of learning. Rapturously singing Spice Girls songs in an amateur choir, losing games of chess to eight-year-olds, and dodging scorpions at a surf camp in Costa Rica, Vanderbilt tackles five main skills, but learns so much more.

Surprising, challenging and inspiring
Revisado: 05-20-19
Chelsea Handler and I are not kindred spirits and before I listened to this book I would not say she was someone I admired or liked. This book reveals the humanity, the pain, and heart that lives beneath the surface, not just Chelsea’s but people in my world. This book is the reason I seek to listen to voices of people who don’t think, talk, or act like me. No I’m sure it wasn’t the goal, I learned a lot and was inspired by her story
