I can’t abide the narrator

Voicing is so irritating I could not finish. I have read all of these books, love the stories and characters. Hideous irritating narration is unbearable. I have 125 audible titles as my vision is very bad. Only one other title by Stephen Donaldson fit in this category. The whining was also unbearable. Sad.

Silver is such a whiner

I love DD’s books but I can barely stand these 3 so far. What an incessant whiner Silver is. Always focusing on the negative, nothing is ever good enough. If I were Logan she would be long gone. No one is perfect and Logan has proven over and over what he would do for her. She needs to think. Plunges into battle over her head and endangers others because she is not competent. Overall good person but the whining drives me up the wall. Cuts her nose off to spite her face. She is now 28 y so act like an adult instead of a whiny teenager. Life is hard. Suck it up or die.

Wallowing in self recrimination

Decent story but all the self recrimination almost made me quit reading it. Very sub par for M Lackey I do not recommend. Don’t waste your $. Voice work good.

Disconnect w story arc

Ending book 4 had Mauds brother showing up as an Adhal. Engaged but not married. This book had nothing to do to continue the story arc. First time time seriously disappointed in Ilona Andrew’s.

Too much repetition

The recounting of all the past details derailed the story. The previous 10 Kate Daniel’s handled it much better. Other than the derailment, good story. Need haunts courtship story. All of the younger characters conman, the to-be assign child and her babysitter show great promise.

Great story as usual. However, her voice does not fit a powerful character like Kate Daniels. Her voice just isn’t strong enough. It’s not that she doesn’t do the job she just doesn’t fit the character in my opinion.

Ann McCaffereys many series I so enjoy. Losing my my vision and finding audible saved my bacon she has chosen excellent readers for this series.

Narration quite iffy.

Very flat boring narration. I almost didn’t get through the fist part of the story. Better as story progressed when doing characters. The whiny characters drove me nuts. This story did not fit in with any of the other perm timelines, seemed completely disconnected. I liked the stronger women and women riders. That was the main redeeming part of the story. Over all, barely tolerable.
