Historia
Herein lies a raw exploration of duality, darkness, and desire. A collection of sonnets, haikus, and free verse that brings to the surface our fractured pieces and celebrates how the light and the dark blend to make us whole. An invitation to embrace the shadow and give it its rightful place as a part of the self.

Raw, hauntingly beautiful, yet hopeful.
Revisado: 11-05-24
This one took a minute because how do you review someone's emotions? How do you review someone's bared soul?
shadow. self. was raw, hauntingly beautiful, hopeful...
The emotions are tangible from start to finish, not just in the actual poetry but in the dedication, the epigraphs, the introduction, you can feel the sentiment. The weight of the words.
I think Joe described it best in the introduction when he says that art should make you feel unalone. In shadow. self. I felt that hand reaching out so many times, reminding me in grief, in joy, in fear, in ecstasy I'm not alone. None of us are.
If you're a human who has ever felt anything, this is me, recommending you shadow. self.

Historia
Agent Bradly "Wolfe" Tucker has one case he cannot solve: six murdered women and a cold trail leading nowhere. When bodies with an eerily similar MO show up in Philadelphia, he volunteers to assist with the case. He figures he will spend a few days in Philly, hand the case off, and head back to his life in Seattle. But everything changes when he stops at a local bar, looks across the room, and sees her. Agent Leda Bailey has had a bad week. She has three dead women and no trail to follow. The clues don't add up, and nothing makes sense.

Gripping from beginning to end
Revisado: 08-18-24
This book was so good, I was engaged and on the edge of my seat through the whole thing. There were no 'filler chapters', at no point was I bored and waiting for more action. It was a ride from start to finish.
Audkobook is duet narration and the narrators were absolute perfection in these roles. All 3 of them brought these characters to life and made me fall in love with them.
If you're not sure, based on the blurb, that this book is for you I'd say just read or listen to the prologue. That prologue grabs you by the damn throat and drags you in, and the story just never lets you go.
Cannot recommend it enough and I'm so excited to continue this series.

They make me feel like I belong for the first time since my parents were murdered. And when they touch me, my whole world sparks to flame. But they have enemies. Those who would give anything to harm what they hold dear. And while they’ll do whatever it takes to keep me safe, sometimes falling in love will put you right in the line of fire.

Full cast. Dual style narration.
Revisado: 01-20-24
Genuinely enjoyed this story. It was engaging and I'm eager to know what happens next. The cast of narrators were phenomenal, obviously with an all star group like this.
I desperately wish it had been duet style, it makes it easier to keep track of who's speaking in group dialouge scenes and really just elevates the entire story.
I'll probably just eyeball read the next two books but I'm definitely interested in seeing how this all plays out.

Historia
Bristlebrook is up in smoke, my brutes are dead, and Sam’s camp is a powder keg begging for a flame. Injured and furious over their losses, the surviving hunters are preoccupied with their own problems. Their factions and allegiances. Their internal wars and pissing contests. The new world they want to forge. They don’t look twice at their meek little captive.

Amazing read

Entangled was fantastic! Somehow managed to surpass Ensnared and keep me just as engaged and invested every second. My heart was torn out of my chest for Eden and the guys multiple times and I was so frustrated I wanted to shake them in the very next breath. This hasn't been out a week and I'm already desperately awaiting book 3.
Specifically to the audiobook, this cast is a *dream*. I love the full cast format and every single one of these actors was phenomenal and brought their character to life. They conveyed every emotion and line with depth and nuance that not all narrators manage. They made you feel what the character was feeling and gave life to this story.

Butcher & Blackbird was fucking phenomenal. I laughed and cried and was an absolute mess because the smut was god damn incendiary. Cannot recommend this book enough. If a spicy horror comedy sounds like your jam, you're gonna fucking love it.
