Historia
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a lot of heavy equipment, free weights, or machines to get the results you’re so longing to see. The human body can provide enough resistance on its own to make a change. Power, endurance, speed, flexibility, strength, coordination, balance and a whole host of other biomotor abilities can be built and developed over time by using the power of your own body to do it. Bodyweight training is growing in popularity.

would be better if it actually covered why calisthenics help. instead of being a step by step guideline on how to do several and list off generic benefits of exercise.

From the fairy godmother’s pumpkin coach to Herr Drosselmeyer’s nutcracker, godparents have long been associated with good gifts. But in The Character of Virtue theologian and ethicist Stanley Hauerwas offers his real-life godson something far more precious than toys or trinkets - the gift of hard-won wisdom on life and the process of maturing.

Virtuous performance of a good work
Revisado: 02-08-20
This Godfatherly advice reminds me of my Papa and some lessons he shared with me as I was growing up. A great listen for people of faith and even those who are not but find themselves in a position of being a Godparent, and what that should entail.

Mostly Good
Revisado: 01-04-20
It starts out as a very even handed book, it's a series of political essays from Robert Schmuhl and he describes his attempts at being a political professor and maintaining a balance in spite of the of Us vs Them battles that get ever narrower - i.e. being a fan of both Teddy & Franklin Roosevelt, JFK and Reagan,
Then he gets to the more modern era, It's still fairly balanced through the Bush's and Clinton, And you can start to see a shift when we get to the Obama/Trump age. Not only because the country has became even more polarized, but because the author has become personally attached to what happens politically, he tries to give a fair balance, but looses focus on doing so partway through.
Ultimately, even though some clear biases are revealed, it is a very well thought out work that examines what it means to be commander-in-chief, both the Burdens and the Glories of that job.

A Mind to Learn
Revisado: 01-03-20
This was a great listen, and it has many invaluable techniques to aid in learning, however the last few chapters had think/reflecting assignments at the end of every one, that basically said the same thing.
The only other thing I would caution anyone considering this work is to be aware, this is. guide on how to learn to think about Maths and Science, not learning techniques for solving problems.

Missing a key step
Revisado: 12-31-19
While this book has great advice, it is missing a first key piece of information for the users to figure out. Where to come up with the initial capital needed to invest in real estate to begin the steps outlined in the rest of the text. Beyond that, the steps are logical, concise and practical. If someone has the capital but not the know-how to get into real estate, this book will be a valuable guide. $I received a copy of this book for free in agreement for writing an honest review.

One of my favorites. Best narrator.
Revisado: 03-21-19
The pacing and tone of Pablo Schreiber perfectly fit Buck's world that Jack London made. I have always had a soft spot for this story since I first read it as a young boy, but with this rendition I have fallen in love again with the story, and I hugged my puppy a little tighter after finishing. will relisten at some point, which is rare for me.

Everyone knows that timing is everything. But we don't know much about timing itself. Our lives are a never-ending stream of "when" decisions: when to start a business, schedule a class, get serious about a person. Yet we make those decisions based on intuition and guesswork. Timing, it's often assumed, is an art. In When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing, Pink shows that timing is really a science.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Revisado: 08-07-18
In a near future where 999 times out of 1000 you come back when you are murdered, what would that look like? We have a good answer here.
John Scalzi has written a piece so profound and terse that it reads like a good episode of a crime show meets The Twilight Zone.
Zachary Quinto delivers this work in a way so perfect I can't see anyone else reading it. His ability to alter his intonations and give differing accents while not leaving the primary voice help tell this story as it should be told.
