Historia
Nine-year-old Ada has never left her one-room apartment. Her mother is too humiliated by Ada's twisted foot to let her outside. So when her little brother Jamie is shipped out of London to escape the war, Ada doesn't waste a minute - she sneaks out to join him. So begins a new adventure of Ada, and for Susan Smith, the woman who is forced to take the two kids in. As Ada teaches herself to ride a pony, learns to read, and watches for German spies, she begins to trust Susan.

Those who have made the decision to homeschool their children have done so out of great love for them and a desire to provide them an excellent education in the context of a warm, enriching home. Yet so many parents (mainly mothers) who have taken up this challenge find the enterprise often full of stress, worry, and anxiety.

I am a longtime homeschooler and really enjoyed this book. I wish I would have had this resource when I first started homeschooling. Good for new and old homeschoolers alike!

Historia
When Dr. Will Cooke, an idealistic young physician just out of medical training, set up practice in the small rural community of Austin, Indiana, he had no idea that much of the town was being torn apart by poverty, addiction, and life-threatening illnesses. But he soon found himself at the crossroads of two unprecedented health-care disasters: a national opioid epidemic and the worst drug-fueled HIV outbreak ever seen in rural America. Confronted with Austin’s hidden secrets, Dr. Cooke decided he had to do something about them.

Great book!
Revisado: 03-03-22
I had never heard of this book but am so glad I listened to it! The challenges that Dr. Cook faced were unbelievable and I could feel his frustration. The way he was able to change his point of view and see people as Christ does is something we all need to do. As a healthcare provider this was a great eye opener to how jaded I have become and I am thankful for the reminder to see people through Christ’s eyes. Awesome book!

Still no fix

I read the reviews looking for an option to unsubscribe and see that over the past year there has been no response about how to unsubscribe from WSJ. I’m glad I finally looked at reviews because I have wasted an insane amount of time trying to find a way, in the app and on the website, to unsubscribe. Guess I can stop looking now. Thanks Amazon! We are thrilled that you care!
