Historia
Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform. Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?

This one is way too much of a numbers game
Revisado: 03-24-25
Sometimes I say things like “this book is not for everyone” but this one is really for hardcore fans of the genre.
I managed to finish it but it was a bit much for me.

Interesting beginning
Revisado: 02-04-25
A reasonable fantasy book. A world with wizards, monsters, demons, and prophecy.
A couple of the reviews talked about a boring bit in the middle of the book but I do not understand what part they are talking about.
I am downloading the next book now because I need to find out what happens next.

Probably his worst book
Revisado: 01-30-25
Dean koontz is a very talented writer who has written some great books but this is not one of them.
So many plot holes and poorly thought out sequences.
I recommend people get a different book Dean koontz because I think someone else wrote this and stuck his name on it.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

A book based on a movie based on a book
Revisado: 12-15-24
A book based on a movie based on a book that inspired a musical that inspired a movie.
It is not often that a movie is so much better than the book. I really expected the book to make the wicked witch into a more complex and understandable character not into a random crazy person who constantly makes comic book decisions.

Seems to be a story about a background character that ended up having no impact on the story.
Revisado: 12-12-24
The ending of the story did not make any sense.
I am not sure why the main character who was supposed to be very intelligent did not to seem to realise that she was not really relevant at all and everything was just going to play out anyway without her anyway.

Almost good
Revisado: 09-18-24
I liked the characters but I found the world and the logic of the magic extremely flawed.
I can not get into specifics without ruining the story.
The world just does not have consistent logic.
One example I can mention without ruining anything is that characters from books, spoken stories, pure imagination, and internet forums can become real but not characters from movies or television.

Better than I expected
Revisado: 09-16-24
I know they say not to judge a book by its cover but did not expect much from this book. It looks like one of those books that my aunt used to read when I was a kid.
But it is actually not that bad.
I would have rated it much higher if it wasn’t for the fact that that the main character does a couple of things that have very obvious plot implications and you just have to wait to the book to get around to revealing the “surprise” twist.
Maybe I am wrong and you were always supposed to feel smarter than the main character.
I guess I just do not like stories where you know what is going to happen. Lots of people love stories like this. the titanic was one of the most popular movies of all time even though everyone knew that the ship was going to sink and almost everyone was going to drown.
It is a well written but predictable story.

Start is a bit dry but gets better
Revisado: 08-07-24
This is another good book in a good series.
At first I thought this was going to be a bit dry and too removed from the personal story of the main character.
But as the book got going it got more and more interesting.
The author did a great job of dealing with the increasing strength of a character without falling into a hole of inconsistent powers that most stories end up in to keep the character challenged.

Historia
When an ambitious teenage girl from Earth finds herself in a magical realm, she could be the hero—but she'd prefer to be the villain. When power-hungry Everly is reborn into a medieval world where elemental magic rules and she receives her elemental servants—the oddly sadistic Eris and the fun-loving Titania—years earlier than one typically would, she knows she's destined for a command of necromantic magic the likes of which her peers can only dream.

Interesting but difficult
Revisado: 08-02-24
The main character is a horrible piece of work that has motivations that make no sense.
The story even comments on she does not understand her own mind but that doesn’t help to fill the hole that a complete lack of depth makes.
It is very difficult to listen to the inner monologue of a 1950s style comic book bad guy.

Doom Guy: Life in First Person is the long-awaited autobiography of gaming’s original rock star and the cocreator of DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstein—some of the most recognizable and important titles in video game history. Credited with the invention of the first-person shooter, a genre that continues to dominate the market today, he is gaming royalty. Told in remarkable detail, a byproduct of his hyperthymesia, Romero recounts his storied career.
