Historia
Sebastian Lewis never expected to become a duke. But with the sudden deaths of his cousin and uncle, Sebastian's position changes. He is determined to fulfill his new responsibilities with grace, even if it means remarrying, and even if the attractions of women, so often lauded by poets, fail to interest him.

Would you listen to The Duke in Denial again? Why?
I think I would. Joel Leslie's performance is pretty wonderful. He voices Sebastian wish such tenderness and William's low Northern brogue was so sexy. I really loved this story - I haven't come across many Regency Romances in the m/m genre and this wonderful novel combines the with such charm and real heart.
What other book might you compare The Duke in Denial to and why?
It's definitely got that wonderful Jane Austen charm and sense of societal sweep. I loved how sensitive the author was to the reality of social taboos the characters would face, and used it as a totally convincing argument to their ability to openly communicate. It inherently provided that wonderful 'unspoken longing' that is such a common element in Regency Romance. The characters' struggle for the courage to face their true love was heart wrenching and really had me totally engaged. I kept thinking it would make a fabulous movie.
Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favorite?
I thought William's voice was pretty delicious. But I also really loved all the range and variety he gave to the characters. Leslie is a really strong narrator - great storyteller and really draws the reader into the world. All the accents are wonderful.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I really loved it. I was very impressed with this author who was totally new to me. I will definitely read the rest of the Scandal in Sussex series.
Any additional comments?
The book also contains a mystery storyline which I thought was a really nice touch to give a fresh feel to the 'love at first sight' formula. I really felt this book was a beautiful homage to those BBC costume dramas that sweep you off your feet - and the fact that it's a m/m romance is icing on the cake.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely - the book was recommended to me by a friend, and I really enjoyed the audiobook a great deal. Luddington creates an incredible, complex, confused anti-hero with her Lancelot. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones this really captures that kind of first person epic feel with an incredible forbidden relationship blazing between Lancelot and his King. Luddington takes the Arthurian characters and, with great love and respect, takes the reader in a sensual and exciting new direction. The narration is excellent - brooding, clever, with a passion theatricality that suits the the world of Camelot.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lancelot and the Wolf?
I think when Arthur and Lancelot are alone for the first time was really a great scene... The anger, loss, heat and betrayal running between them was powerful.
Which scene was your favorite?
I really liked one of the key scenes with Else where there is a 'reveal' early on. Else is an amazing character, strong, witty and I think the introduction of that element in to the story really allowed the author to give us really interesting insight into Lancelot's personality.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Well - it would be perfectly appropriate to steal a line from the musical Camelot, actually - "Camelot: Where the tables are round and the relationships are triangular".
Any additional comments?
This is the first book in a substantial series - i'm looking forward to the next installments and hope they are released on audio as well.
