Historia
The sixth-century Roman Empire is a dangerous place, threatened on all frontiers by invaders. But soon the attacking armies of Vandals, Goths and Persians grow to fear and respect the name of one man, Belisarius: horseman, archer, swordsman and military commander of genius. As Belisarius triumphs in battles from the East to North Africa, his success causes him to become regarded with increasing jealousy and suspicion.

Great way to learn history.
Revisado: 08-07-23
About someone who held his sacred duty above all worldly possibilities. Followed his dharma eventhough his emperor was unworthy of it.
It makes for an interesting philosophical point. Which way to go is really the best way. Maybe it depends on your breathe of view.

Historia
On February 28, 2013, after pleading guilty to violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, John Kiriakou began serving a 30 month prison sentence. His crime: blowing the whistle on the CIA's use of torture on al Qaeda prisoners. Doing Time Like a Spy is Kiriakou's memoir of his 23 months in prison. Using 20 life skills he learned in CIA operational training, he was able to keep himself safe and at the top of the prison social heap. It is at once a searing journal of daily prison life and an alternately funny and heartbreaking commentary on the federal prison system.

Great and important read
Revisado: 07-27-23
This is an important book, and once you get into it, a great read also.
How many of us are really willing to stand up for truth especially when there are serious personal consequences?
With a broken, sometimes vindictive system, that can be like a steamroller, most of us might just keep our heads down.
We are fortunate that someone intelligent, articulate and with a good amount of common sense did stand up.
With his witt and humour thrown in, the book is an easy and entertaining read.
Most people never get caught up in or even see much of this unfair system. Nevertheless the people prosecuting the system are doing it in the name of all Americans, so it's consequences reflect on everyone in the end, even if most have never heard of karma.
