Historia
Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. There’s a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can’t seem to agree on anything.

Characters
Revisado: 03-31-25
The characters were fun, but I did get a bit confused about the bank robber- specifically. I was a little bored, but this isn't my normal type of read. In the end, the part I was confused about overwhelmed my enjoyment of the story. I dont know if I just tuned out and wasn't listening or what, but I do know I wasn't fully engaged. Otherwise it was a fun story.

Historia
Thrown into the Veil for a crime she committed, Delora was discarded by the world. Although afraid of her oncoming demise, she accepts it as it would be a worldly escape from her problems. She didn’t expect that she would wake up from her deadly fall, nor that the person who saved her would be a Duskwalker. She’s wary about him at first, but Delora begins to realise there’s more to him than just a faceless monster.

FLC was annoying
Revisado: 03-06-25
I want to start by saying I really liked the first book and was super looking forward to this one. The female lead, Dolora, is annoying and honestly gave off predatory and super toxic vibes. Magnar had the mental and emotional capacity of an adolescent for about 3/4 of the book and didn’t even know what his penis was and she KNEW IT and had sex with him anyway. Like right off the bat. She was even very resistant of him maturing - which gave me a super ick. Her back story was weird too and didn’t make sense. I just really didn’t like her character which was a super bummer cause I was stoked she was written as a curvier gal. It sucks she wasn’t given a stellar personality. She’s actually a really lame character. Magnar’s narrator was excellent - as in the first. Dolora’s narrator made her sound super whiney and weird, so much so that it made me dislike her even more and completely turned the sex scenes sour - IMO. Again - it is a huge let down the bigger girl didn’t have a more badass personality or story. Hopefully the third book is better.

Kept me on my toes!
Revisado: 01-27-25
Great story! Well written with fantastic characters. While I was often frustrated with the story, I honestly see that as a good thing because it means I’m invested in what happens! I was not disappointed - I was engrossed the whole time. Fantastic performance by the narrator as well. All around a super fun listen!

Unresolved tragedy
Revisado: 11-26-24
This book was one giant gut punch. Tragedy after tragedy and the continuance of unresolved pain is the main theme. The story is powerful, the writing was excellent, and the narration was fantastic. I usually dont gravitate to this type of book, but wow. What a way to step out of your own cultural bubble and get smacked in the face with a big reality check of a world that you realize you cannot relate to.

Historia
A strange plague called the "Gets" is decimating humanity on a global scale. It causes people to forget - small things at first, like where they left their keys... then the not-so-small things like how to drive, or the letters of the alphabet. Then their bodies forget how to function involuntarily - and there is no cure. But now, far below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, deep in the Marianas Trench, an heretofore unknown substance hailed as "ambrosia" has been discovered - a universal healer, from initial reports.

Revisado: 10-23-24
The writing and narration was excellent. I wish it ended differently. The ending just seemed a bit abrupt and confusing.

Revisado: 09-27-24
The story just gets better and better. That is so rare. If you've made it to book 13, there's not much I need to say you don't already know. I love the Wandering Inn. This series has captured my heart and mind in a way no other has. Amazing work, pirateaba. Never stop writing.

Witches are freaking cool
Revisado: 09-23-24
Pirateaba did it again. She made witches freaking cool. They were already cool, but they are now cooler. It was fairly Ryoka heavy, but I still really enjoyed this story. Though Laken and Doreen dont make sense to me even more so now. I get why they fell in love and all that, but honestly she's annoying and doesn't really get better. Still my favorite series though!

Historia
The Wandering Inn has a princess who solves problems rather than creates them, and her name is Lyonette. Yet what happens when the innkeeper returns to manage her inn? Lyonette must learn to be a good employee rather than manage everything herself, and sharing power is never easy.... Nor is it ever simple in war, but that is where Geneva Scala remains. In bloodier and increasingly brutal battlefields, The Last Light of Baleros is now growing in fame, but there is no future there.

Slam-dunk again!
Revisado: 08-13-24
Wow. I am re-reading this series for funsies and my original conclusion that it ages like fine wine is still accurate. The story gets better and better with each book! I love this series with all of my heart and it is another example of how Pirate Aba masterfully introduces and weaves new characters into the story in the most natural and dun way. As always, the narration is just outstanding!!

Re-listening to the series and loving every minute
Revisado: 07-18-24
I love this series so much, I dont even know how to express how much I love it. Hands down my favorite book series of all time. If you're new to this series, I know its long, but just keep going and you will be well rewarded, I PROMISE!! The writing is top notch and keeps you hooked throughout the entire book, and the narration is absolutely incredible. The narrator brings the characters to lifese grabbed them from the pages and ripped them out in front of me. I am currently re-reading the series as I wait for my next audible credit to come in and I am so happy that I did. I get to fall in love with the story and characters all over again!!
