I thought it was well done. I usually don’t listen to this genre, so I was a little surprised when I liked it.

Honestly written
Revisado: 06-09-24
Enjoyed the both the narratives d the story. It’s well written and from what I know is pretty accurate. It was hard to stop listening in parts and others it was hard to listen to due to the manner in which people were treated during this time of history.

Learned a lot
Revisado: 07-15-23
I’m grateful to my book group for suggesting this title as our August book. I learned quite a bit about the White House, the all that goes into it, the history, and the people who have resided there.
I found this a very fascinating book.

Surprisingly Really Great Book
Revisado: 06-09-23
I got this as a free book not sure of what to expect from it. It was well written and performed beautifully. I was drawn into the story and had a hard time stopping each night.
The story takes place in the early settling of the west and seemed to match the time period. Well worth the time.

Great story terrible narration
Revisado: 06-03-23
After listening to Ragged Dick, which was amazing, this is really lacking in performance. I will finish listening to it but OMG the fact that the narrator never fluctuates between characters makes it very difficult to focus and follow along it also makes it har to be drawn to the characters.
I’m grateful I got to meet some of the main characters in the first book by a different narrator.

Historia
Former Broadway dancer and current agoraphobic Billy Shine has not set foot outside his apartment in almost a decade. He has glimpsed his neighbors--beautiful manicurist Rayleen, lonely old Ms. Hinman, bigoted and angry Mr. Lafferty, kind-hearted Felipe, and nine-year-old Grace and her former addict mother, Eileen. But most of them have never seen Billy. Not until Grace begins to sit outside on the building's front stoop for hours every day, inches from Billy's patio.

Real life type of story
Revisado: 06-03-23
I listened to this story because another friend marked it on her want to read list.
It was beautifully narrated and kept me up late just to see what happened. I think it took me all of three days to get it finished and that’s with backing it up a few times.
I would listen to this again.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.
