Historia
Starfleet was everything for Cristóbal Rios…until one horrible, inexplicable day when it all went wrong. Aimless and adrift, he grasps at a chance for a future as an independent freighter captain in an area betrayed by the Federation, the border region with the former Romulan Empire. His greatest desire: to be left alone. But solitude isn’t in the cards for the captain of La Sirena, who falls into debt to a roving gang of hoodlums from a planet whose society is based on Prohibition-era Earth.

Different - But Excellent
Revisado: 05-20-23
This is not regular Star Trek …. But it’s good SciFi. I almost didn’t buy it - because of the reviews I read. I am so glad I ignored them.

Historia
For a quarter-century, from the end of Watergate to the aftermath of the Cold War, no Republican won the presidency without his help or ran the White House without his advice. James Addison Baker III was the indispensable man for four presidents because he understood better than anyone how to make Washington work at a time when America was shaping events around the world. The Man Who Ran Washington is a pause-resisting portrait of a power broker who influenced America's destiny for generations.

Fantastic
Revisado: 02-20-21
This is timely for early 2021 and is a fantastic listen. For a child of the eighties ... it makes me nostalgic for what was. It pulls no punches and by the end you will feel as though you know Secretary Baker ... as good as anyone possibly could. They don’t make them like this anymore.
You don’t have to be a Republican or a conservative to enjoy this book.

Great Book - bad audio quality
Revisado: 09-05-20
This is a great book. The narrator is good as well. But the recording quality is the worst I have ever heard on Audible. If you can get past that ... it’s a good listen.

Historia
As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Stick With It
Revisado: 11-24-17
First: Marc Thompson’s performance is second to none.
Second: This is a must listen for any serious Star Wars fan.
Third: Expect to be disappointed ... the first time around. This is (obviously) just the opening act of Aftermath. As such it’s the least of the three books... but it sets up some great story lines to come. If you are like me ... you will be back after Empires End to listen again. It’s much better the second time around.
Note: Make sure and listen carefully to the “interludes” throughout the story. They are a window on things to come in the Star Wars Universe.

WOW
Revisado: 11-06-17
This is by far one of the best Star Wars books ever written. If you love Lost Stars and how it’s story-with-in-a-story style plays out ... you will love this book. Though there are a few moments in the 40 stories that will cause an eye roll or two ... taken in its entirety ... it’s fantastic. A must listen to book for the serious Star Wars fan.

Historia
There are plenty of mercenaries, spies, and guns for hire in the galaxy. But probably none as dangerous and determined as Bazine Netal. A master of disguise—and lethal with a blade, a blaster, or bare handed—she learned from the best. Now it’s her turn to be the teacher—even if schooling an eager but inexperienced recruit in the tricks of her trade is the last thing she wants to do. But it’s the only way to score the ship she needs to pull off her latest job.

Just down buy this book and listen. It's fantastic. You will not want to stop listening. LaVoy does her usual best and the story will leave you wanting more. Dawson took this random character with 5 seconds of screen time and brought her to life. No wonder it was turned into an audio book. Simply fantastic.

Tom Clancy at his best. Very detailed but delivered, both in writing style and performance, in a way that makes it enjoyable. Can't wait to hear Executive Orders.
