Remarkable Achievement, TERRIBLE Book

Firstly, congratulations to Stephanie for completing her AT thru and the three 200-mile ultras all in the same year. It's a remarkable achievement for which she should feel great pride.

However, save your time and skip the book. This is by far the worst book I've listened to in a long while. It reads like a series of bad (undescriptive, vague) blog posts - there is no story arc, the author is constantly "telling" rather than "showing" (and even then, the telling is rather undetailed and boring - I can't tell you how many times she says she's "excited" or that "things are awesome"). At best, it's rather bland and boring. At worst, it's repetitive (literally there was an entire 30 seconds that was word-for-word repeated between two chapters), misogynistic (the author has very much internalized a lot of "men" vs "women" stereotypes - apparently only the men on trail think about eating pizza and drinking beer in town; having emotional needs met is something that is important only to women; there are repeated instances of the 'men as saviors/protectors of women' trope), and fear-mongering (there is an entire story about how she avoided a 'really bad situation' with some man on trail, all based ON A DREAM SHE HAD before ever getting on trail. In the meantime, there is no evidence at all that this man was anything but normal - he never attacked her, there were no reports that came out later on that anyone was being attacked on trail....).

The performance doesn't help things, either. The voice actor sounds like she's talking patronizingly to a group of kindergarteners. That said, it's hard to tell how much of that is really the voice actor or if it's the terrible writing (which is so simplistic that it sounds like it's written for children).
