Historia
Locked behind bars for three years, Shadow did his time, quietly waiting for the day when he could return to Eagle Point, Indiana. But just days before his release, Laura and Shadow's best friend are killed in an accident. With his life in pieces and nothing to keep him tethered, Shadow accepts a job from a beguiling stranger he meets on the way home, an enigmatic man who calls himself Mr. Wednesday.

One of the Greatest
Revisado: 05-20-19
This is a LONG commitment. There are many, many sub-stories that read more like fables and fairytales. Very graphic, explicit, and phenomenal.
Neil Gaiman is a god.

Historia
When Norm Macdonald, one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time, was approached to write a celebrity memoir, he flatly refused, calling the genre “one step below instruction manuals.” Norm then promptly took a two-year hiatus from stand-up comedy to live on a farm in northern Canada. When he emerged he had under his arm a manuscript, a genre-smashing book about comedy, tragedy, love, loss, war, and redemption. When asked if this was the celebrity memoir, Norm replied, “Call it anything you damn like.”

Classic Norm!
If you're a fan, you gotta own this audiobook. Reading the book is a disservice to Norm's comedy.

It was great to listen to during my road trip. Kept me and my boyfriend on the edge of our seats.
Also, people who complain about being confused by the Japanese names...just pay attention. Jeeze.

Historia
Manabu Yukawa, the physicist known as "Detective Galileo," has traveled to Hariguara, a once-popular summer resort town that has fallen on hard times. He is there to speak at a conference on a planned underwater mining operation, which has sharply divided the town. One faction is against the proposed operation, concerned about the environmental impact on the area, known for its pristine waters. The other faction, seeing no future in the town as it is, believes its only hope lies in the development project.

Disappointing, but less than the 2nd book
Revisado: 12-18-18
I am a big fan of The Devotion of Suspect X. After finishing it and returning the library audiobook, I immediately searched for the last two.
I purchased the second book in excitement for more critical analysis only to find myself disappointed by the boring characters. Our two lead men are remain great IMO, and I liked the installment of the new, female, junior detective. But everyone else who make the ploy was dull dull dull. Yukawa is the saving grace who I held on to for the ending. I returned it, ashamedly.
The exact same experience happened listening to the last book of the Detective Galileo trilogy.
I have 4 hours left of the 11 hour audible, & I’m done. I’m returning it since I’ve been trudging through it when I hit the 8 hour mark.

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Story is meh, but audio is great—Twist at the End!
Revisado: 08-06-18
I pressed the fast-forward button plenty of times throughout the story. This has me thinking that if I had read the book, I probably wouldn’t have finished or I would’ve skipped half the story to get to the end.
The twist in the end was, personally, jaw-dropping. What you expect is expected but something unexpected also occurs. ;) :p
I really enjoyed the narrator for this audible.
The mental health/illness aspect of the story is honestly what glued me to the book. The character’s internal struggle with her illness is honestly what makes my purchase of this audible (it was a deal of the day $) feels like an investment.

This Got Me Addicted
Revisado: 08-06-18
There’s the audible narrated by the fantastic British actors and the original narrated by the magnificent Neil Gaiman. Let me tell you:it took for me a long time of deliberation to de use which version to buy.
In the end, I went with the original audible. I wanted the raw experience of how an author truly characterizes their creations. Gaiman voices each and every single character organically and uniquely without sounding, quite frankly, annoying and cringing. The story is great; there were times when I needed a break from finishing the story because some parts sort of came to a dull point. I give the story a 4/5 and the audio a 5/5. This was my second fiction audible and is the reason why I became an audible-phile :)
