Finally lots of spice in this book. Narrator really just keeps ruining it for me tho. Good story line but just can’t get over the narration.

A little irritated I have made it thru 2 books with little to no spice. The narrator still not great but I have gotten fairly used to him now. I feel like book 1 & 2 could have just been one book. There is a lot of filler for no reason. Overall it is still a great story line tho

Great story but so hard to listen to

Great story, but I had a really hard time with paying attention due to the narrator. It was overly exaggerated and sometimes I couldn’t tell if it was dialog or not. I probably missed some key points to the story just trying to over concentrate on the book. I wish there was any spice. Lots of talk and little to no action. I’ll be listening to book 2 tho.

Great story

This was a great story. Definitely would be good for most ages too. I’m 31 and really enjoyed it but it’s tame enough that I would let my 11 yo read it.

An all time low for the series

There are a few points on this series that are important to take into consideration before starting to read this. First and foremost, the romance in this book completely escalates to full blown abuse in this book. I can’t even describe how angry I got during this. Second, this main character is supposed to be so badass yet constantly ending up in situations she can’t handle without being rescued by this big hulking a**hole. Third, this story line through 3 books so far is the SAME issue over and over with hardly any actual progress. This story should have been told in a single book. Last, what is up with the main characters stomach issues? I read reviews on it and thought it was funny at first but they are nonstop. Gets pretty annoying. Like there are other reactions then getting sick about literally everything.
Personally, I am quitting the series. It’s really been a disappointment.

One of the best written series I have read

So far this has been one of my favorite series of all time. I think my favorite thing is this main character is just as strong and intelligent as any series TRIES to write their main characters. She is a force to be reckoned with.
Another thing is this story line is so well written too. I have a tendency to guess plots so easily but this one has been more tricky for me.
I love a good surprise.
Then of course, the cherry on top, this narrator is wonderful! Her voice is just SO nice to listen to and she reads the characters lines the way I feel like they would actually say it. I could listen to her all day. Heck, I did. Lol

Great book!

I was skeptical going into this book due to the reviews concerning racism.
The book is about a girl raised with very conservative beliefs in the faith specific to the book. The first several chapters are you learning about her and her initial beliefs. What I like is that it then walks you thru the deconstruction of those beliefs and how she changes for the better.
Being someone who had to spend a large part of my early 20s deconstructing my own beliefs I had been taught growing up, I find this inspiring and heartwarming.
This book sucks you in from the beginning and is heartbreaking at parts but it’s well written, well thought out and the ending leaves you excited for the next book.
