Historia
Jonathan Mooney blends anecdote, expertise, and memoir to present a new mode of thinking about how we live and learn - individually, uniquely, and with advantages and upshots to every type of brain and body. He explores the toll that being not normal takes on kids and adults when they’re trapped in environments that label them, shame them, and tell them, even in subtle ways, that they are the problem.

You are great just the way you are!
Revisado: 10-28-20
As a person with dyslexia, I just found this book affected me on a personal level. I loved that the author is the narrator because I don't think the stories would have had the same emotion behind. I have experienced similar struggles in the education system and could hear him reliving the pain as he told the story.
He talks about the current state of what is considered the norm and researched how the accepted criteria came to be. Hear how so many of today’s ideas are rooted in archaic and ethically wrong practices. It makes you wonder why no one has demanded change. But that’s the reality of deep roots. It’s a daunting challenge that a person alone could overcome.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has been struggling with any kind of disability because it shows that it's not us who need to conform to the imaginary normal. But to show the world that there is no normal.

Truth in simple but not easy
Revisado: 06-03-18
Mel Robbins speaks directly to how we all feel when trying to move forward. This book feels like you are having a sit-down conversation with Mel not just listening to her read her book. Each section covers the typical mental blocks we all face. She uses hers and others experiences to show you how this simple rule can be applied to your own life.
Each section is clear and easy to refer back to if you need to review that particular challenge again. The change in audio quality can be a bit distracting, but this change happens rarely.
If you need a simple technique to apply in your life just to get things moving, this is the book for you.
Its simple but it's not easy.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Don't let the tittle fool you
Revisado: 05-16-17
I listened to this one a few times keying into different things depending on where I was in my day.
This isn't your normal self help book. I know that phrase is used a lot in this category but I feel it truly applies here.
Mark is blunt, he calls you out while throwing his own crap on the table. He really clarifies the vision of ones self with what your really willing to fight for.
I would recommend this book for anyone who worries that their simple desires for life are some how not good enough. Mark will help you see they aren't.
I also want to recognize Roger for his superb narrating. He brought the book to life, preventing you from falling into that listening hypnosis that some self help books can trap you in.

Most in depth

This autobiography was really in depth and you can mentally see what pointe in history he is walking through as his story is told. The only thing is the narration is a bit monotone and so you can easily zone out when listening and miss some parts.

What did you love best about The War of Art?
I liked how it wasn't a checklist of must does
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration tended to drone on a bit making it easy to zone out while listening.
Any additional comments?
I found the book very helpful but I suggest listening to it in chunks since it can all start to blur together if you listen for a long time.
