What a gem this one is.
Revisado: 07-21-23
I put this one off for months because of the title thinking it was going to be one big recollection of drug binges and acid trips, and though there is a fair bit of that, it’s not the theme nor is it even the basis. To my surprise, turns out this book is filled with such innocence, sincerity, and truth, written and spoken in such beautiful form. Flea tells his story with a holistic eloquence and grace. I had no idea Flea was such artful and soulful individual. I completely enjoyed everything about this book and feel lucky to have been able to experience it, both as an audiobook and as hard copy. Spoken from the heart, bearing one’s soul. What an absolute gem Acid for the Children is. Thank you, Flea, for sharing this with us.

Historia
When this best-selling autobiography was originally released, everyone was shocked: The Long Hard Road Out of Hell was the darkest, funniest, most controversial and best-selling rock book of its time - and it became the template, both visually and narratively, for almost every rock book since. Marilyn Manson is not just a music icon, it turned out, but one of the best storytellers of his generation.

Never meet your hero’s
Revisado: 03-18-23
I’ve always been a MM fan, but after listening to this I’m pretty disgusted to learn of what a horrible person he is. At times through out this story I kept asking myself “why am I listening to this”. Many parts of this story, when it came to the things he and his band mates and road crew did to people and animals, are pretty horrific. I wish I could say I enjoyed this one, but I didn’t and wouldn’t recommend it.

Some parts were not as captivating as others, but overall it was quite a good story. Very well written, read, and told. The last several chapters were most enjoyable for me.

Historia
Alice in Chains was the first of grunge's big four - ahead of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden - to get a gold record and achieve national recognition. With the charismatic Layne Staley behind the microphone, they became one of the most influential and successful bands to come out of the Seattle music scene. But as the band got bigger, so did its problems.

I wanted to like it but definitely didn’t.
Revisado: 02-01-23
I had high hopes for this book but found it to be very un-interesting and didn’t not portray much a story. I felt it was like watching/listening to a news story. It lacked heart and soul. Very dry and not at all what I was hoping for. Though I do appreciate the author for taking the time and effort to put this together, it just didn’t capture me in anyway.

Lucidly and beautifully written, Peace Is Every Step contains commentaries, meditations, personal anecdotes, and stories from Nhat Hanh's experiences as a peace activist, teacher, and community leader. It begins where the listener already is - in the kitchen, office, driving a car, walking - and shows how deep meditative presence is available now.

Beautiful
Revisado: 10-24-22
Loved this book. Very simple yet profound. And the narrator read it so lovely. A very nice read. At times I found myself shedding tears throughout at some of the things said. I really enjoyed this audiobook and would recommend it to anyone looking for something calming to listen to or read. Peace Is Every Step is about being in the moment and returning back to nature. It’s about appreciation for all the many things we are surrounded by and the beauty in them and how it is all connected to who we are, how we are, and how we can make positive change within ourselves, others, and the world we live in. It really is a very simple story but with deeply meaningful words and thought. Loved it and will likely be listening to again.
