Historia
Hugh d'Ambray, Preceptor of the Iron Dogs, Warlord of the Builder of Towers, served only one man. Now his immortal, nearly omnipotent master has cast him aside. Hugh is a shadow of the warrior he was, but when he learns that the Iron Dogs, soldiers who would follow him anywhere, are being hunted down and murdered, he must make a choice: to fade away or to be the leader he was born to be. Hugh knows he must carve a new place for himself and his people, but they have no money, no shelter, and no food, and the necromancers are coming. Fast.

Fantastic!

I liked Hugh in the Kate Daniels books even if he was a jerk but this story really redeemed him. I like how it explains a little further the blood bond and I liked seeing Andrea, Raphael, and Ascanio. The couple in this story seems to fit together really well even if they don't particularily like each other.

Modern history is filled with terrible crimes, baffling hoaxes, and seedy scandals. The infamous Jack the Ripper slayings. The alleged survival of Anastasia Romanov, the youngest daughter of the murdered Tsar. Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong's public fall from grace. The Chicago Tylenol poisonings and the copycat crimes that followed.

Fascinating
Revisado: 07-14-16
I really enjoyed this lecture. It was full of interesting case studies on a wide variety of topics, some I had heard of before but some I had not. It interested me in perhaps looking up some more in depth books about a few of these cases. I had a hard time spacing out the lectures and not listening to them one after the other because I thought they were so interesting. The lecturer's voice was quite pleasant to listen to and she seemed to know a lot about the topic. I think I might listen to this one again sometime in the future.

Shane MacKade enjoyed everything about women - the look of them, the smell of them, the taste of them. So the last thing he expected was to become a one-woman man. And even more surprising is that it's the Ph.D.-toting academic Rebecca McKnight who has him headed for a fall. Could Shane's days as a bachelor be coming to an end?

Lackluster conclusion to quartet
Revisado: 01-15-15
While I really enjoyed the first three books in this quartet this one was only so so. I really didn't care for the main female character, Rebecca, and I tried. I liked Shane and seeing glimpses of the lives of the couples in the first three books but I couldn't see why he liked Rebecca. The voice the narrator uses for Rebecca was also horrible. It was hard to get through. The first three books he narrated were much better.

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Stays with you
Revisado: 01-17-14
I guess I'm a bit like Hazel, I want to know what happens to the characters after the end of the book. I thought this book was wonderful. I cried copious amounts of tears for the last two hours of the book, but then, I expected to cry so it didn't really bother me but I hadn't expected to laugh as much as I did. I had a hard time sleeping last night because I laid awake wondering what happened next? I can make some assumptions but as I really liked the characters I would be happier knowing. The book was well written and seemed very honest. I've never known a young person with cancer so I can't say from experience but they seemed very real to me. I'll probably listen to this book again in a few months or so to pick up the things I just didn't catch. I highly recommend this and I'm going to listen to more of his books. This was my first of John Green's. Kate Rudd did a great job as narrator.

Nice Entry in Series
Revisado: 08-09-13
I'm really fond of this series. I love Georgie and Darcy and the mysteries they solve. Overall, this wasn't one of my favorite entries but it was still enjoyable. There was a brief cameo by Georgie's grandfather that felt like it was shoehorned in only to be able to see him in the book and Belinda really didn't add much to the story. The mystery itself felt a bit rushed though I did understand the motivations of the killer. I liked seeing so much of Georgie and Darcy together and it's nice that Georgie probably has someone to stay for a while. Jack was a fun character and I hope that he shows up more in the future. Katherine Kellgren did a good job narrating, though sometimes her delivery was a bit over the top. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Fantastic
Revisado: 08-07-13
I think this might have been my favorite entry in the series. There was a lot of action, a lot of romance, and many appearances by the characters we've come to know throughout the whole series. It's nice to see the continued rehabilitation of Mallory and the apparent end of one of the arcs that's been going on over the last several books. The book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and I can't wait until the next one comes out. Sophie Eastlake as narrator did a fantastic job.

Overall Quite Fun
Revisado: 08-03-13
I enjoyed most of the stories in this anthology immensely. It's added some series of books to my to read list. I really enjoyed the story Holly's Balm that revisited characters from Strange Brew. The narrators did a good job and I did like the fact that all the stories weren't read by the same person. I think I'll probably be re-listening to this anthology at some point because I do love short stories.

Very Fun Second Book in a Series
Revisado: 08-03-13
This is the second book in this series, though you don't really have to have read the first one to enjoy this one. I bought the first one in one of the surprise $4.95 library sales and when I got around to listening to it, I completely enjoyed it. This one is just as enjoyable with a completely different storyline. The storyline was believable and seemed real and I really liked the characters. It was nice to see some of the characters in the first book briefly. The narrator was good though I could hear her breathing and swallowing occasionally. She isn't one who I would go seek out other books read by her but I would definitely listen to her again.

Widens the World
Revisado: 07-31-13
This book really seems to have moved the storyline forward. It was very cool to see all the familiar characters in an unfamiliar setting, it was nice to get them out of Atlanta. It was also interesting to see how another part of the world is dealing with the world shift toward magic. I love how Kate seems to grow in her magic and her personality with every book. She learns how to do something by trial and error, not just a giant leap. The storyline with the bodyguarding reminds a bit of the earlier books but I love how Kate is in charge because she is the one with the experience. I'll miss the character who didn't make it through the book but I can't wait to see what happens next with this. It'll seem like a long time before the next book comes out. Renee Raudman did a fantastic job as usual. Her voices were consistent with the previous books and she manages to make every character sound distinct.

Starts a Little Slow
Revisado: 07-20-13
I really enjoyed this book although it started really slowly. I had to push myself to keep with it and I'm very glad that I did. I didn't see the twist coming and the look at London wth supernatural elements was very fun. I much enjoyed the British slang though sometimes I wasn't quite sure what was meant. The narrator did a fabulous job and I very much liked the sound of his voice.
