Disappointingly slow story that just stops halfway through.

No Conclusion
Revisado: 09-04-18
The story line is great and well written, it keeps you engaged throughout the book. The book does not answer any questions or have any conclusions to the story, it feels like the book just ends right in the middle of the book. I enjoy a good cliff hangar, but I want to feel like some aspect of the storyline has concluded when I get to the end of a book.

Historia
The discovery of a strange and superior warship sends Dion, youngest son of the king of Xanthos, and Chloe, a Phalesian princess, on a journey across the sea, where they are confronted by a kingdom far more powerful than they could ever have imagined. But they also find a place in turmoil, for the ruthless sun king, Solon, is dying. In order to gain entrance to heaven, Solon is building a tomb - a pyramid clad in gold - and has scoured his own empire for gold until there's no more to be found.

Slow Start but a Strong Finish
Revisado: 08-27-18
The book is a little over descriptive at times with scenery and landscapes, it often felt like the descriptions didn't really add to the story. I was looking for an action packed book with constant excitement or intrigue, the first quarter of the book was not very exciting but it did set up the rest of the story which was exciting and kept my attention.
