Complete Story

The characters in this book are so interesting, the whole Tyr society is so alien yet so familiar and the story itself leaves little to nothing yet to tale. I love a good action sci-fi that doesn't leave you hanging all the time. Sure there are lots of stories that could come out of this background but the story of how the Tyr almost lost thier world but where saved by a determined few is complete. I'll definitely give the whole series a whole listen as one again.
Also, the switch in narrator wasn't too jarring. The new guy does an excellent job. After the 1st hour I was fully on board with the switch.

Pros, Can't stop it. This book is a force. The main character Ashok is a broken hero that is unforgiving in his pursuits. The hidden stories of the side characters make them all appealing. And that the negative. I kinda want more time with the supporting cast. Jagdish and Gouch in particular.

Intense

This is not your "relaxing night-time book". It's a balls to the wall hell drive though rings of fire and grief. Almost from the start I began having stress sweats as I listened to RC Bray describe one terrible and hopeless scenario after another.
All that to say. Highly recommended. Just be prepared.

Kinda surprised

It started kind of off for me. I was listening while driving. After the first hour I was ready to give up. But by the time I finishes driving, about 3 hours in I didn't want to turn it off. Part one was action packed in typical Fox fashion. But the princess could be a bit annoying. She got much better in part 2. The narrator is amazing. I'll be honest. I usually don't like woman narrators or British accents. But she is really good in this.

Valhalla with a twist

This is the best audio book I've listened to with Anspach's name on it. It's an interesting premise that got me interested and then kept me hooked with great dialog. And the mystery of "What's really going on?"It is so annoyingly interesting that I had to finish the book to find out the truth.

Post-apocalyptic military sci-fi.

I genuinely enjoyed Best if US. It doesn't fit with GE. Different pacing and feel to it.
But thought provoking and kind of a sincere US vet/military love letter, hidden inside a post-apocalyptic sci-fi story.

A jump forward

Caught me off guard in beginning. Though I missed a book somewhere. But it's just Fox skipping forward a bit.
Other than that. It's still an action packed story that kept my wondering "What happens next". Absolutely kept me listening. Luke Daniels turns out his normal outstanding performance.
