Hey you guys, it’s Leslie. I’m excited to share my story with you. Now, I’m gonna be honest: Some of the details might be vague because a b*tch is fifty-five and she’s smoked a ton of weed. But while bits might be a touch hazy, I can promise you the underlying truth is REAL.

LESLIE F#CKING JONES
Revisado: 12-27-23
This is the greatest book ever written, and--hands down--best performance of all time.
Leslie Jones is a real American hero.
Legendary, inspirational and so goddamn funny she's changed the game. G.O.A.T.

Historia
In a small back alley of Tokyo, there is a café that has been serving carefully brewed coffee for more than 100 years. Local legend says that this shop offers something else besides coffee - the chance to travel back in time. Over the course of one summer, four customers visit the café in the hopes of making that journey. But time travel isn’t so simple, and there are rules that must be followed. Most important, the trip can last only as long as it takes for the coffee to get cold.

OK
Revisado: 06-27-23
A new if not interesting twist on time travel. However, just as the author points out that everyone in the story decided this manner of time travel was pointless and stupid, so too might the reader. The plot does nothing to disabuse this inevitability.
Time travel as a concept in any genre deserves to be thoroughly explored by the author. Or, it should at least be covered with more attention and creativity than will he done by your audience.
Overall, a missed opportunity. I'd pass.

Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Pretty OK!
Revisado: 03-09-23
The insights into programming and the gaming industry were interesting, and I thought the details about characters' innovations were creative.
I also found the transitional narrative near the end to be quite an original way to integrate the idea of unconscious Inkscape into a character arc.
I wanted more science and tech overall, or even more to the plot. The story of two best friends who fight then make up seemed a little pedestrian. But I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Maria Bamford is a creative genius. But the process of creating is not something that “comes easily” or “is enjoyable” for her. So, over the years, she’s invented a number of helpful techniques for tricking, shaming, coercing herself into doing things. You Are (A Comedy) Special is 15-step comedic send up of a self help guide that examines Maria’s approach to stand-up in a hilarious fashion.

Maria Bamford is an American Hero
Revisado: 09-20-20
Not only is this book hilarious, but it's also inspirational, insightful, adorable and comforting. It's like an uplifting pep talk by a loving and sagacious leader who courageously shares the secrets we all have in common.
Bamford is an important and profound artist. But also, silly AF so you LOL like a goon.
You'll treasure this.

If, in this Age of Misinformation, you find yourself exhausted by the divisiveness, sickened by the dissent, poisoned by the discord, you are not alone. Of, by, and for the Hanged Man is a memoir equal parts hilarity and vulnerability, but just as important, it is a declaration for navigating our post-truth world. Author A.M. Pfeffer has chronicled this journey into an uproarious and riveting blueprint specific to discovering a "Hanged Man" inside each of us.

Historia
Thousands of years ago, Earth’s terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life - but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity’s great empire fell, and the program’s decisions were lost to time. Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth. But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed. And it’s been waiting for them.

Legendary Scope and Genius
Revisado: 06-01-19
Wow. I haven’t even finished this sequel yet and am already compelled to rhapsodize about the magnitude of Tchaikovsky’s imagination and intelligence.
This is genre-defying “first contact” sci-fi that is as nuanced as it is epic. Astonishing in its intricacy and depth. This is the kind of story God would tell, before becoming real.
Just fucking brilliant.

Sedaris’ diary is so goddamned hilarious that I eventually resigned myself to never being able to read it in public for fear of interrupting shared spaces with my constant and explosive laughter.
