Historia
Johnnie Rico never really intended to join up—and definitely not the infantry. But now that he’s in the thick of it, trying to get through combat training harder than anything he could have imagined, he knows everyone in his unit is one bad move away from buying the farm in the interstellar war the Terran Federation is waging against the Arachnids. Because everyone in the Mobile Infantry fights. And if the training doesn’t kill you, the Bugs are more than ready to finish the job.

good, but shifty
Revisado: 04-05-25
interesting story, looking forward to seeing where it goes, but the POV shifts are very confusing, it seems mid page the POV shifts from one to another and back again. this to me made the story hard to follow. Add that the narrator doesn't really do " voices" he was hard to follow at times.

"divided" between meh and ok....
Revisado: 12-26-24
I felt like this story was going to build a huge Sci fi world/ universe. Instead I felt like it was phoned in about half way thru.
while I enjoy, not milking a story or characters dry, to drag out a series. I felt everything was just rushed and a meh ( to be continued) open ending, just in case author wants to come revisit the series.

feel like Pendergast stories that used to border on " X-Files " type cases....are starting to jump the Shark...and just get so far out there, it's not even about Pendergast.
have the Authors ran out of ideas they needed to add in Time Travel?

Revisado: 09-21-24
we've made it this far, so here I am. While I did enjoy the performance, the books are very very repetitive, this book is no different. With also thrown in....just random stories or mini issues that make really no sense, but to add length to the book. I just feel like this series is about as milked as it can be

nothing really happens
Revisado: 06-29-24
last 2 hours of this audiobook is when stuff actully happens.
I think the Author has forgotten Pipper was even in the series, as she has little " screen time" Also Cheeks and the other guy are just dicking around on the ship last 5 books I guess? with random screen time.
then we get to plot holes. The team gets a bew Mach 2 version of their suits...cool!?
There's a point we're Magnus says ge doesn't have servo assist in this suit, to keep it lighter. but then comments on how they would " give him away" in stealth chameleon mode?
6 books of the Mach 1 suit, that wasn't an issue before?

starting to sound amateur-ish
Revisado: 06-18-24
I wrote a review for book one that I will edit slightly. While alot in this series seems to be recycles content from other Sci fi franchises, it kinda works. But my still main criticism was the book length...almost 2 hours of this audio book is a afterward by author and a "preview" for the next book. Or a short story.
I'm about 5 hours into this book, and I'm wondering several things.
Is the author making up the unity abilities as he goes? As there seems to be zero limits and they start to contradict slightly.
Next, a main charcter has reservations about " killing good guys" even says, let's try not to use lethal force. after all they have a tech advantage, why not NON lethal lasers?
so far the book is fire hours of the authors wet dream of as much deadly force as possible....just weird.
Then there are things that pull me " out" of the universe.
main charcter gets his eyes replaced with " bio technia" eyes....yeah a fat senator has Hemorrhoids? really?
Next is the use of kmph, meters etc. To then talk about how many yards someone is away?
I'm pretty sure author has a pointed ear kink. Really goes out of his way to constantly talk about pointed ears.
Another thing that "doesn't make sense", this book takes place almost immediately after last book. A good chunk of this group does a orbital jump from space. Only ONE person had to jump tandem, due to lack of experience...yet Adonis talks about how he's only one that's ever done it? So 20 plus people get a quick course except one guy.....thats basically comic relief?
There's another scene, where a group is freaking out about elevators, they of coarse get stuck...blah blah....oh wait! There's a unity chick with them! She can just lower everyone down the last 60ft.....I mean 20meters!?
why she not do that first!?
Then there's the narrator change. Guy isn't bad, I just feel he's trying to hard to do R.C Bray " voices" instead of just doing it his way.
I think I will stop here at this point in series. It's just....all over the place.

The mission is simple. Escort an emissary to an intergalactic peace summit. Try not to get in the way. Lt. Magnus and his 79th Recon Team have certainly handled worse, after all. But when an explosion rocks the tower and sends everyone into a panic, Magnus and his asset find themselves cut off from the rest of the team. Worse still, a dying alien chieftain gives them a priceless drive of intel, marking them for death. The mission has officially changed. With enemies on all sides, Magnus must do everything in his power to protect the emissary and escape the tower.

Good, but very recycled Sci fi
Revisado: 05-23-24
* almost 2 hours of this Audio book is a afterward, a short story and a preview. making this a pretty short "book"
First off RC Bray is wonderful. And I think if you came here looking for military scifi....you'll mostly be happy. up till book 5 or 6.
So stop me if you've heard this story line before...
There's a thing called the unity that people can use, only some. There's a little girl that's VERY story in said force....er Unity. There's something/someone else that seems to be on the dark side...I mean made of darker energy.
Sassy robot that's doesn't understand humans, made by a space smuggler that has a hot rod ship.
A space marine with the most BS " alpha male" name ever : Adonis Magnus?
And another race of war " dogs" that also doesn't understand sarcasm and think things too literally.
and alot of this takes place on a desert planet!!!! Sound familar!?
I've been charmed enough, to get thru 5 of these books. But that's it.
The unity, seems to be made up as it goes along. With no real ceiling. It's never explained, nor is this world/ galaxy?
In one instance we are being told something is Clicks away, or kilometers away. Then somone sees something in yards.
