Historia
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

Historia
As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man. When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey.

Outstanding Production!!!!
Revisado: 01-04-19
I was absolutely blown away by the production value of this audiobook. It sounded to me like a movie. The voice acting was unbelievably fantastic. The production and the voice acting pulled me into the story, very well. The story came off to me like a rewriting of the first novel, that's not so much a bad thing, I just granted 4 stars for that.

Historia
Introducing James Bond: charming, sophisticated, handsome, chillingly ruthless, and licensed to kill. This, the first of Ian Fleming's tales of secret agent 007, finds Bond on a mission to neutralize a lethal, high-rolling Russian operative called "Le Chiffre" by ruining him at the Baccarat table, forcing his Soviet spymasters to "retire" him. It seems that lady luck has sided with 007 when Le Chiffre hits a losing streak. But some people just refuse to play by the rules.

Amazing Audiobook!!
Revisado: 12-31-14
This is the first book in the James Bond saga, however, you probably already know that. I read the entire series years ago when I had the hard copies and the vision to read hard copy books and I loved it. I've always found the James Bond in the novels to be more authentic than the movies portray. The movies drifted towards comedy and gadgets and really don't portray Bond as the ruthless, survive by the wits spy that this book portrays. I really liked this book and really suggest you try it.
Simon Vance turns in another exceptional performance.

Historia
Gemma is the story of a child abduction written from two widely divergent points of view: 12 year-old Gemma and Hazen Wook, the 36-year-old man who abducts her. Hazen is a violent pedophile, a sexual obsessive, and Tilly does not white-wash or sanitize his thoughts in any way. This book is scary and not for the faint of heart.

Haunting
Revisado: 12-30-14
I don't want to say I liked this audio, because that just feels very creepy. I can say I never wanted to hug a fictional character so much in my life. This book is powerful and that's no doubt. The ending felt a little weak, though. It ended abruptly without giving me any closure on several of the plot lines. Makes me wonder if there will be a Gemma 2.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Super Tight Writing Review with No Spoilers
Revisado: 11-26-14
I highly recommend this book to people who have already seen the film and for those who have not. The book is super suspenseful and really fleshes out the intense nature of Amy and Nick's relationship, I put her name first so I don't get into Amy's deadly sights, is defined in a way the movie could not do.
I've read some reviews that talk about how Amy was an over-the-top character and there is not really any woman out there like her. I find that extremely naïve and I can only assume the reviewers have a "June Cleaver" or "Brady Bunch" image of most women. There are women and men who are "evil", for lack of a better word. Watch your back, carefully.
The narration was great and Julia and Kirby's voices completely complimented each others and really helped to deliver a perfect package of story and narration.
This will definitely be a book I read again and again.

Interesting First Book and Collaboration
Revisado: 11-16-14
I agree with many reviewers that the story was hard to follow in many areas. I also agree that Gillian's narration was oddly monotone. I was expecting someone with her acting prowess to deliver a really good performance. I wonder if she got some advice from others to keep it as monotone as possible.
I did find the use of hypnosis and the main character being such a fan of it to be ironic. In the X-Files Scully was against hypnosis completely, so it was funny to hear Gillian's voice promoting hypnosis in character for Caitlan and hear Gillian's voice denying hypnosis in character for Scully. I wouldn't have caught this if I had just read the novel or if Gillian didn't do the narration. I wonder if actors ever feel like they have MPD.
I've read a couple of interviews with Gillian where she is absolutely candid about the collaboration with Jeff Rovin. She has said that she stayed in the creative process and let Jeff do what he does best. I've not read any of Jeff Rovin's novels, so it's hard for me to see his influences, but I suspect he did the heavy lifting in the writing department.
The reader is bombarded with meta-physical concepts through the entire novel. That actually took away from me some of the suspension of disbelief that I utilized to read this book. However, the meta-physics of the novel are addressed in an interesting way in the final chapters of the novel. I am interested enough to read the second book in the series and see if I can decide if it's worth it to get the last novel in the series.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

It's not Gone Girl, not by a long shot
Revisado: 11-13-14
This is a dark whodunit with a lot of twists and turns, but it drags down in many parts. The revelations don't come fast enough for me and are not of high enough impact to keep me interested. I almost stopped listening multiple times when I hit a slow block. Without giving anything away, the contrived ending made me laugh with the absurdity of it instead of giving me closure. The explanation of the ending made me laugh even harder.
While I thought the narration was okay, there was something very jarring about the transitions from the female narrators to the male narrators. It made me wince every single time.
I won't be buying anymore of Gillian's books and I'm thinking about returning this one and getting my credit back.

Revisado: 11-11-14
I haven't listened to any other adaptations of this book, but I highly recommend this one by Jonathan Kent. I just love the way he says "Silly Ass"! His narration also really made the beast men come alive for me. The book itself is the wonderful book from H. G. Wells and it's amazing. Thanks for this production!

Revisado: 11-11-14
I love this book. I love this book even better than the 1982 and 2011 movies. That's saying a lot! This book is scary and well plotted and so, so, so much fun to listen to. Steve Cooper does a wonderful job of narrating the book and his inflections are perfect. I highly recommend this audiobook. I'll be listening to it a lot!

Half Thought-out Story and Mediocre Narration
Revisado: 10-06-13
I loved the concept behind this book and purchased and listened to it before the movie came out. Usually I do not review the movie and the book together, but since the author of the book also did the screen adaptation of the film, I'm going to make an exception. The story in this book feels to me like it's only partially finished. The story in the book also feels to me to be artificially inflated. There are some good concepts in this book, but they are lost in page after page of fluff (I will not ruin the hour after hour you will hear about "filtering" and what stars will play them in the movie) and mediocre narration. The film is actually a tighter better story than the book, and that is a RARE occurrence! It seemed to me that the author corrected many of the shortcomings in the book with the movie version. He even made a better ending in the movie. This book feels like it takes many more hours to listen to than it actually does. If you want to get into The Ruins, watch the movie to get a better story, tighter storyline, and more interesting characters.
