Worthless, superficial, not worth a single cent
Revisado: 10-20-10
This book is one of the worst ones I ever listened to: the amateur narration (horrible voice over) of pseudo-scientific blabla without a single relevant insight is just a complete waste of time and money. An ultra-hyped empty bubble, don't even consider it for a second...

Historia
In the old days, professional service firms could survive without much marketing effort. Put together a team of good people, deliver strong service to clients, and you might get by just fine on repeat business and client referrals. For many, those days are gone. While repeat business and referrals are still necessary to grow, they're no longer enough to succeed.

Great topic but delivery short of expectations
Revisado: 10-09-10
I listened to this book with high hopes but as an audio edition, it seemed very unstructured and messy, with some good nuggets of advice but overall not living up to its name. It lacked a clear structure and diverted from the given chapter's topic often, also repeating many things. The most important shortcoming was the complete lack of case studies and practical examples, while it kept using surveys, dry figures and quite abstract advice. The authors should read Made to Stick and rework their book!

Historia
Why is it so hard to make lasting changes in our companies, in our communities, and in our own lives? The primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains, say Chip and Dan Heath, authors of the critically acclaimed best seller Made to Stick. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants a great beach body; the emotional mind wants that Oreo cookie.

Way too theoretical
Revisado: 07-29-09
Incredible amount of theory, hardly any case study...expected much more from this piece. Also, the voice-over is just rushing through the text as if he was doing a speed-reading competition!

Historia
In Made to Stick, Chip and Dan Heath reveal the anatomy of ideas that stick and explain ways to make ideas stickier, such as applying the human scale principle, using the Velcro Theory of Memory, and creating curiosity gaps. Along the way, we discover that sticky messages of all kinds—from the infamous “kidney theft ring” hoax to a coach’s lessons on sportsmanship to a vision for a new product at Sony—draw their power from the same six traits.

Revisado: 12-15-07
In one word: WOW. This book is a MUST for anyone considering running a business or those who have done so wish to see the system from 'outside', and become tenfold more successful. Sometimes a bit too poetic, but gets the point through with it with fantastic ideas, structures and hints. Excellent piece!
