Historia
Bryce Alexander isn't exactly on a path to wizardly renown. In fact, his latest rejection from the Arcane Arts program at the Kotodama Institute has pretty much guaranteed his dream of attending magical college is over. But rather than give in to despair and join the manager training program at Samba Smoothies, he does something incredibly daring, unexpected, and . . . stupid. He sneaks into the Queens warehouse where the Dark Sorcerer Zambrano has recently been spotted and offers up his service as an apprentice.

Great from top to bottom
Revisado: 02-17-25
Excellent narration, clever, snarky writing that's smart, and a fun light-hearted story that's fun from start to finish!

Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Out with the story, in with raunchy sex fantasies
Revisado: 12-20-23
Given how phenomenal the first book was, I could not have been more disappointed. It did not take long for the "story" to become nothing more than a thinly veiled outline to allow for insessant and wildly over the top sex fantasies. This read like a teenagers fan fic where they forget to tell the story and instead focus on only their hormones. Despite how much I enjoyed the first book, I have recommended nobody start the series, because a fourth of the way into this book you'll wish you could delete the whole thing from your mind and read a series that is solid from start to finish. massive disappointment.
