I really enjoyed the whole book. Having it set somewhere besides the U.S. Was different and refreshing! Very well written I will be watching this author for future books.

Confused

In the story a ghost, who is blind, relieves messages from an unknown person through a magnetic letter board and magnetic letters. Did it occur to anyone else he was blind? How could he "see" the letters or the message? I admit I may have missed something being this is an audible book. That being said, I enjoyed the story and the narrating and I look forward to the next book! I do hope the same narrator continues with all the books in the series.

The narrator can make a world of difference in an audible book. I have listened to this one before and was quickly reminded how every voice is the same. The men's voices are a little deeper but they all sound the same. A drawn out gravely sound at the end of each sentence. She also doesn't speak in sentences, it's word by word by word. The story jumps a lot. I thought it could have been so much more in depth to capture the listener but it just wasn't there. The narrator does have a very strong voice, she just needs to work at changing it up a bit.

Not too bad.

I had no expectations. I liked the narrators voice but every character had the same voice too. I didn't like that I could hear her mouth noises and swallowing. The story was interesting but not much attachment or emotion. I am not sure if I will listen to the next in the series. I wanted it to be meatier.

A little disappointing

It was a good story but a misleading description by the author. I was expecting more to do with the house and ghosts and Sarah's past. I did not care for the kidnapping and sale of teenage girls. I know she wanted to keep mystery to end but she could have explained better who the bad guys were. Lastly, Sarah and Clint, we waited the whole book for the romance to spark and the end was a real letdown

Would you try another book from Sara Fawkes and/or Julia Duvall?

yes I would read another book from Fawkes, but as far as Duvall, it sounded like 2 different people narrating the books. I skipped most of the second book because listening to her was like an episode of Gilmore Girls. I loved how the story started and loved the steaminess.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

the love hate relationship between the brothers.

Would you be willing to try another one of Julia Duvall’s performances?
