A necessary gut shot
Revisado: 02-16-22
I've been adjacent to the drug crisis for decades, watching friends serial into and out of addiction. I thought I knew about what was going on better than most people. This book taught me I didn't as much as I thought.

Historia
Steven Rinella won a lottery to hunt for a wild buffalo in the Alaskan wilderness. One of only four hunters that year who succeeded in killing a buffalo, he carried the carcass down a snow-covered mountainside and floated it four miles down a white-water canyon while being trailed by grizzly bears and suffering from hypothermia. Rinella found himself contemplating his own place among the 14,000 years' worth of buffalo hunters in North America and the place of the buffalo in the American consciousness.

Great Book
Revisado: 10-06-16
Steven Rinella is a great author and this is a great book. It would have been better if read by the author himself. The narrator was very capable and read it well but he mispronounced some hunting terminology and that detracted a bit from the otherwise fine presentation.

Historia
A guidebook for living a life without religion, combining sociological insight and personal inspiration. Over the last 25 years, "no religion" has become the fastest growing religion in the United States. Around the world, hundreds of millions of people have turned away from the traditional faiths of the past and embraced a secular - or nonreligious - life, generating societies vastly less religious than at any other time in human history.

Interesting
Revisado: 03-12-15
This is a great work for people who face obstacles leading a Secular life. I'm lucky enough to live amongst a supportive community. For me this work was interesting in that I lack perspective on the challenges faced in other parts of the USA if you are a Secular person.
