Where does Feeding the Hungry Heart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's not too high up in the list of non-fiction as it was too short; it left me wanting.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Feeding the Hungry Heart?
Not forbidding any foods to myself ever again.
Any additional comments?

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

I'm glad I read it.
Revisado: 04-08-17
What made the experience of listening to Man's Search for Meaning the most enjoyable?
The quality of the writing and the timeless content.
What other book might you compare Man's Search for Meaning to and why?
I don't think anything I've ever read compares to this. Holding on to hope throughout the unbearable amount of pain and misery he experiences and looking at it as a way of gaining professional insight is just unreal!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I did cry a lot when I was listening to the this book, but the scene that moved me the most was the one where he was marching through the snow underfed and underclad, but instead of succumbing to desparation, he was connecting with his wife in his mind with ultimate love and affection not even knowing if she was alive.
Any additional comments?
I still haven't grasped the meaning of my life I'm afraid, but this book sure got me thinking.

Historia
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Great narration for a great classic!
Revisado: 04-08-17
If you could sum up Slaughterhouse-Five in three words, what would they be?
So it goes.
What did you like best about this story?
That it managed to stay so real in its absurdity.
What about James Franco’s performance did you like?
He gave life to the characters, and absolutely nailed the tone of the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The bombing...
Any additional comments?
I just loved this book and Franco's narration, except for the one name he mispronounced throughout. It's been a while though, so I can't remember what it was.

Historia
Intuitive Eating is the go-to book on rebuilding a healthy body image and making peace with food. We’ve all been there—angry with ourselves for overeating, for our lack of willpower, for failing at yet another diet. But the problem isn’t us; it’s that dieting, with its strict rules, keeps us from listening to our bodies. Written by two prominent nutritionists, Intuitive Eating will teach you how to reject diet mentality forever; how our three eating "personalities" define our eating difficulties; how to find satisfaction in your eating; and much, much more.

Didn't work, but helped a lot.
Revisado: 04-08-17
Would you listen to Intuitive Eating again? Why?
I would; if we are to undo the damage, we need to hear this advice repeatedly until it can negate previous thought patterns.
What aspect of Pam Ward’s performance would you have changed?
Her voice came off harsh.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You've been deceived all your life.
Any additional comments?
Although this book helped me a lot, I am still far far away from being an intuitive eater. I wish they could have helped more.

The Gifts of Imperfection

Historia
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

Loved it!
Revisado: 04-08-17
Would you listen to The Gifts of Imperfection again? Why?
Absolutely. The narrator's voice was very soothing, and Brown's stories and lessons need to be heard again and again so they will sink in.
What did you like best about this story?
The honest voice of Brown and the narrator.
Which scene was your favorite?
The one where she opened up to her sister.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Gifts of Imperfection?
"Own you story!"
Any additional comments?
I remember reading some reviews criticizing her, saying that she kept talking about research but didn't cite anything. First, she's talking about her OWN research; that's what we are reading intertwined with her personal stories. Second, she does refer to others' works and gives the full names of the authors and the books. So, yeah, as far as social sciences go, this is solid.
