Historia
Earth Angel with a Green Card is the true story of the author’s mother who spent her life in service to others, especially her children. During her modest early life in rural Mexico, she bore 11 children, whom she raised with very few resources. She also acted as a nurse for her medical practitioner husband. When the author emigrated to the USA at the age of 9½, it broke her heart, but through her faith, hope, and dreams, she joined him and other members of the family several years later. Her work-ethic, love, and faith inspired her children and many others.

Story of Inspiration
Revisado: 02-21-19
I listened to Dr. Hernandez's first book, "On the Border of a Dream", and was struck by the amazing story of a young boy's journey to immigrate to the United States and then embraced the opportunities this country offers to become a well respected Surgeon. This story focuses on Dr. Hernandez's amazing mother who had a heart of gold and could not walk away from anyone in need. Wonderful story, very heart warming and moving. Highly recommend it.

This drones on and on
Revisado: 12-23-18
The first book in the series catches your attention and has potential. The two following books drone on and on with painfully excessive detail, never really going anywhere. Not until the end of the second book does something interesting happen, then book 3 starts out with the same dreary slow pace. Could not finish this.

An Inspiring Story of achieving the American Dream
Revisado: 07-18-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would and already have recommended this book to several friends. The story is an emotional and inspiring tale of a boy with an impossible dream....to one day live in the United States! It is an engrossing tale of the incredible determination and perseverance Dr. Hernandez endured to become a legal citizen of this country. It is a touching story of how his older brother took on a fatherhood role and put his own future on the line to get his little brother a chance at the American Dream. To hear this story of how a poor child in a country with limited opportunities fought hard and worked tirelessly to become a very well respected and successful surgeon, brings a sincere emotional response. This book should be required reading for high school and college kids who take the blessings of this country for granted.
What did you like best about this story?
There are so many wonderful, touching elements to this story from hearing Dr. Hernandez describe his initial experiences with food and culture we take for granted to the heartwarming elements of family dedication. Each individual will identify with some element of this story.
What does Edgar H Hernandez, M.D. bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This is read by Dr. Hernandez himself, which creates a stronger connection between the book and the author. To hear the actual author who experienced these emotional highs and lows brings a whole new element that reading it alone cannot.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The American Dream is alive and well!
Any additional comments?
This is a feel good story of family, hard work, perseverance, dedication and making the most out of an opportunity.
