Historia
From Ragtime and Billy Bathgate to The Book of Daniel, World's Fair, and The March, the novels of E. L. Doctorow comprise one of the most substantive achievements of modern American fiction. Now, with Homer & Langley, this master novelist has once again created an unforgettable work. Homer and Langley Collyer are brothers - the one blind and deeply intuitive, the other damaged into madness, or perhaps greatness, by mustard gas in the Great War.

Tedious
Revisado: 09-08-09
I barely made it through this book. Generally I'm a fan of small details when they lend authenticity & add a visual element to the story. This book did neither.

Historia
Best-selling novelist Cullen "Cubby" Greenwich is a lucky man and he knows it. He makes a handsome living doing what he enjoys. His wife, Penny, a children's book author and illustrator, is the love of his life. Together they have a brilliant six-year-old, Milo, affectionately dubbed "Spooky," and a non-collie named Lassie, who's all but part of the family. So Cubby knows he shouldn't let one bad review of his otherwise triumphant new book get to him.

Atypical Koontz
Revisado: 06-28-09
Overall, the book was funny in the alternate reality sense of funny. In the beginning I thought Koontz might be reviving an earlier writing style we saw in Seize the Night and Fear Nothing. Not so. What a let down!
I didn't find it suspenseful or thrilling, just flat. Sadly I gave one of my favorite authors 2 stars.

Never again...
Revisado: 06-24-09
As much as I enjoyed this book, I will never listen to another audiobook read by Scott Sowers. After a short time his narration was like nails on a chalkboard. It was all I could do to finish. Fortunately John Hart wrote a great book despite the horrid narration.

Historia
The Republicans are coming to St. Paul for their convention. Throwing a big party is supposed to be fun, but crashing the party are a few hard cases the police would rather have stayed away. Chief among them is a crew of professional stick-up men who've spotted several lucrative opportunities, ranging from political moneymen with briefcases full of cash to that armored-car warehouse with the weakness in its security system.

Very, very disappointing
Revisado: 05-23-09
I haven't listened to a book by Sandford in quite a while, but if I hadn't gotten this book for $7.95 I would have demanded my money back! Aside from the gratuitous foul language, the plot lacked cohesion and too many characters had similar names, making it difficult to keep up in an audiobook! I didn't even finish the book, something I've never done.
Maybe this is why I haven't chosen a Sanford book in so long!

One of the Best Ever!
Revisado: 08-25-08
Without a doubt, one of Coben's best. With more twists & turns than the road to Hana, it's fast paced and keeps the listener thoroughly entertained. Highly recommend.

Disappointed
Revisado: 06-20-07
What a disappointment! The Women's Murder Club series is a favorite but The 6th Target is not of the same caliber. I prefer unabridged audiobooks because much of a book's flavor is edited out in abridged versions. This audiobook felt like it was abridged...flat and tasteless.
